I really hope this is the start of a positive turnaround for Eccles centre.

Not so keen on Councillor August stating the multi storey was a "monstrosity", but rather an historical iconic part of Eccles for over 50 years. I love Eccles and will be filming tomorrow morning the shops and the car park for a nostalgic look round the " monstrosities" before it gets knocked down. Its historical, memorable and sad for me to see it change.

OK, new investment re new very high rise blocks, unavailable to many re rents. Also, all the now high-rise blocks will cut many views for so many, but sun and sunsets etc

Many thanks to Tony Flynn and Salford Media. I was somewhat surprised at the honesty of the councillors but not impressed with their lack of vision, direction and energy it is no use throwing this development wholly out to the people a Camel is a Horse designed by committee, however I thank the councillors for their efforts and feel guilty commenting from a 'sedentary position' to quote a recent speaker. I do not wish to see any investment by China investors which is dangerous and certainly I am sure most residents do not wish to even hear the word 'Peel' look what the Robber Barons have done to our wonderful bridges and canal. The challenge being Eccles Centre no longer exists. The inaccessible West One and Morrisons dominate cut through by two damned roundabouts and a net work of road junctions. Forget the obsession with a centre and demolish either side of Liverpool Road from Peel Green to the library area which should be the epicentre, introduce small shops and cafes. No more hi rise flats which are shabby in construction and poor in design they add nothing add nothing to the Eccles demographic in terms of occupancy and will deteriorate in 10 years, 'entropy' as soon as these Covid Hives are built they start returning to dust. Affordable houses with a garden of which people can be proud who on earth approved these eyesores not those around the table I hope! People need a direction from councillors.

Honesty, really. Mike has now claimed that the £5.4 million grant from the Government was used to buy the Precinct. He just makes things up as he goes, look how awkward he looked when asked where the money came from.

Nothing that the people don’t want. How many want that vile high rise grey monstrosity at the top of church st?
