Charles Eisenstein is a speaker, teacher, and author. A graduate of Yale University with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy, his work covers various topics, including human civilization, economics, spirituality, and ecology. His published works include “The Coronation,” “The Ascent of Humanity,” “Sacred Economics,” “The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible,” and “Climate-A New Story.” In the last-mentioned title, he argues that reducing environmental discourse into the single issue of global warming is a huge mistake for the environmental movement. The book focuses instead on the “Living Planet” view, envisioning what our relationship to nature might be if we saw that everything is alive, conscious, and sacred. Overall, his primary interest is exploring the boundaries of what is possible according to our received beliefs, habits, technologies, and ways of knowing.
In this conversation, John and Charles discuss:
What defines regeneration
What we need to do to embrace regenerative landscapes
Why the quality of our life depends on the quality of our relationships
Indigenous knowledge of landscape management
The understanding of what real wealth is
The differences between control and responsibility
The Importance of exercising our capacity to create
The growing community and movement of regenerative farmers

About John Kempf
John Kempf is the founder of Advancing Eco Agriculture (AEA). A top expert in biological and regenerative farming, John founded AEA in 2006 to help fellow farmers by providing the education, tools, and strategies that will have a global effect on the food supply and those who grow it.
Through intense study and the knowledge gleaned from many industry leaders, John is building a comprehensive systems-based approach to plant nutrition - a system solidly based on the sciences of plant physiology, mineral nutrition, and soil microbiology.
Support For This Show & Helping You Grow
Since 2006, AEA is on a mission to help growers become more resilient, efficient, and profitable with regenerative agriculture.
AEA works directly with growers to apply its unique line of liquid mineral crop nutrition products and biological inoculants. Informed by cutting-edge plant and soil data-gathering techniques, AEA’s science-based programs empower farm operations to meet the crop quality markers that matter the most.
AEA has created real and lasting change on millions of acres with their products and data-driven services by working hand-in-hand with growers to produce healthier soil, stronger crops, and higher profits.
Beyond working on the ground with growers, AEA leads in regenerative agriculture media and education, producing and distributing the popular and highly-regarded Regenerative Agriculture Podcast, inspiring webinars, and other educational content that serve as go-to resources for growers around the world. Only a few minutes in and the statement that immediately resonated with me: “Poverty of Being”. Wow. How true!

Peasants were people who not only could take care of themselves, but also were mostly forced to take care of the so-called upper classes, these uppers who were merely dependent on the peasants, which made them weak. Check out the free tenant peasants of France, they were something special.

Oh, it's something else from you John. It was something so spiritual rather than religious. I wonder if you could do this kind of conversation with Sadhguru.

3:33 My mom put out a 30-gallon 'bag', 6-inches of soil in it, planted a sprouting sweet-potato, and, because she didn't want dears or bears to "steal it", she put a net over the top. The plant grew quickly and was bright green until a single leaf touched the net, then it started to wither and now I think it's dead. In her effort to control, she killed. Sounds par for the course with her. And for most of our species.

Man is controled /influenced or taught by invisible forces just as nature is .or should I say man is part of a invisible force .that force is predatory but it teaches us also. Ithetes alot to be said to live in ignorance because to look further is too scaru.
