Ignore the haters, it's like asking us Europeans to react to a compilation from the NFL throughout the ages. That said, this was a real who's who of World footballing history. And you're 100% right in saying that no matter how you enjoyed watching and reacting to the video that it simply and understandably won't ever be as significant to you as it is to us fanatical European fans. Here's a bit of context for the goal at 10:37. Pelé was only 17 when he played his first World Cup in 1958. He was the youngest player ever in a World Cup. He missed the first three games because of an injury. His first game was the quartefinal and he scored the winning goal, becoming the youngest player ever to score in a World Cup. He then scored three times in the semifinal. The goal we see here is the first of the two goals he scored in the final (and one of the most iconic in the history of football). In total, he scored six goals in three games. Brazil won the World Cup for the very first time and Pelé became the yougest winner of a World Cup. When the game was over, the whole team carried him on their shoulders and he broke down in tears. That day, a legend was born.

Norwegian die hard football fan here. I travel the world to see football. Football is the only thing that makes my grown ass cry like a baby. Football is my nr1. Football will always be there for me and it has more or less saved my life. The video you watch does not justify context. Leicester winning their 1st PL should never have happened. They went into that season ranked absolute bottom. They were expected to finish last but beat the 1/100000000 and won the PL. Not a short cup run but the hardest thing in world football to win. edit: wanted to add that i was one of those that was wondering why you guys never saw the subtitles in your initial reaction (never commented) but i'm really glad you guys took those haters' comments and came back with such humbleness and willingness to learn about this new sport. i really hope you guys experience even more of what we football fans have experienced 6:25 an equaliser is what brings a team to a tie in the scoreline e.g. 1-1 a golden goal just means the winning goal in this case. it was the same match, they were down 0-1, but made a comeback to win 2-1 in the 2000 Euro final 12:16 this part is iconic in Beckham's career not only because he brought England through qualification for the world cup. but also because, just 4 years earlier, he was the most hated man in England because he got himself a red-card unnecessarily, costing England's chances to win. and for 4 years, Beckham was hated throughout England but in 2001 he redeemed himself through such an important moment

The real beauty of football is pledging your allegiance to one football club for life - it's very much a marriage - there are good times and bad, some unbelievably wonderful highlights and some incredible lows. How my particular team does will have an effect on my mood for several days after (even some of the stuff on this vid still hurts -like the Maradona goals against England in the 1986 World cup) - at the moment things aren't so great with my club (51 years a fan and counting) but there is always the hope that things will get better. The 7-1 thrashing of Brazil by Germany is one of the many things alluded to by Al Murray when doing his German finance rant. Finally, shame on anyone giving you a hard time based on your nationality, I enjoy your videos very much and always look forward to the next one. 😊

Great reaction. What you've seen there is the peak of national and club football. What's also really amazing about football is that these stories of heartbreak and triumph are happening in so many small clubs in over a 100 football teams in the UK alone. Then add to that the passion of fans in Spain, Italy, France Germany and the rest of Europe, South America, Africa and Asia and it is a truly global but also grassroots phenomenon.

I think you guys are doing great! I’m English and live and breathe football. It consumes my life in every way possible, from Monday to Sunday I’m always looking at football, playing football or playing for games on my PlayStation, it’s been this way since I was a young kid (I’m now 23). If I tried to get into an American sport I wouldn’t be able to name a single player or team from basketball, baseball ETC. I appreciate your reactions for what they are. Two new people trying to understand the beautiful game. The possibilities are endless with this sport. PS I am a watford fan and my favourite ever moment was our play-off semi final against Leicester in 2013. A last minute penalty to the other game meant we would’ve have missed out on the final to reach the Premier League. We ended up saving the penalty and our main talisman for a decade scored a winner before the referee could blow the whistle. I highly recommend checking out the goal and also the commentary from a sky sports pundit. The reactions and emotions are incredible.

I'm a passionate football fan and have been since the age of ten, when my Dad took me to my first game. I've travelled thousands of miles over the years to watch a live match. I absolutely love the game. Although I don't go to watch games any more due to mobility issues my passion is still in my heart. My husband loved Liverpool when he was a little boy growing up in Nairobi. His father introduced him to the club and they used to listen to the BBC world service sports narrators, narrating the games live, or the highlights. My boys are born and bred in Sheffield, yet they are avid fans of Liverpool. It is like they inherited the love for Liverpool from their father and grandfather. My nephews, who are born and bred in a village near Bradford, have heard my husband talking about how heartbreaking it was for him, when Liverpool was in the doldrums. They then became diehard fans as well. So although we love Sheffield United, Liverpool is in our blood.

Great reaction, the 2019 UCL (UEFA Champions League, which is the top club trophy in Europe) semi final between Liverpool and Barcelona is now known as the Miracle at Anfield, two of Liverpool's main forwards weren't playing and two of Barcelona's main forwards were ex-Liverpool players, so tensions were even higher than normal, but my favourite part is what the manager Jurgen Klopp said to his Liverpool team before the game, "It's impossible, but because it's you we have a chance", still gives me chills!

To be honest, you never going to understand fully football, I mean no disrepect, in The UK and europe, your born to football, playing as a kid with friends, joining teams, i started playing team football at 7 years old, played for the under 9's, the under 11's then under 13's and under 15's, all in mini leagues, The team you support, is the town your born in, that never changes. As you have seen the chants, the saturday afternoon football, few beers before and after. The bond between fans. through good and bad times. The same way, we dont get baseball or american football, we know it, and can like the game, its a passion. but, through your channel, you are learning football, the cultures, Just in the UK there are 5000 clubs and 7000 teams, from 7 year olds, to over 50's clubs

To be fair, the clip was made for people already understanding the context, I can't imagine making sense of it without already knowing what it's about. Also a video I think no other reaction channel approached so far but which is a super insight into football rivalry and the people behind the teams is "900 Years of Hate | Derby Days Lombardia | Brescia Calcio v Atalanta B.C.". It will allow you to understand the fans mentality not only in Italy but in many parts of Europe. I will subscribe and wait for it :)

You could look up the best moments of every player in this video and you'd spend all day with your jaw dropped to the floor just on one player. That free kick curl, was Roberto Carlos, he did that so often being fouled outside the box with him playing was almost as good as a goal. This is why we love football. That was GREAT. Thanks for the re-visit. Manchester City winning with the " AG RE OU" scream was because they needed TWO goals in the last 4 minutes to win their first Title for 40+ years AND deprive their bitter rivals: Manchester United, who were celebrating, assuming they had won(their game finished 5 minutes earlier) That ENDED Man Uniteds incredible success of 12 Titles in 17(?) years and STARTED The Manchester City DYNASTY and Man City have won the last 4 league titles. Not only did Leicester win their only league in 130 years but they were FIVE THOUSAND TO ONE,to win the league that season. That IS an UNDERDOG!

My complaint here, and it's not you guys' fault, is that many of the subtitles themselves are lacking context! Or at least not giving you the FULL magnitude of why that clip is so special - for example the "Leicester (pronounced 'Lester' by the way) winning the Premier League for the first time in the club's history" does not even begin to capture the scale/unlikelihood of this achievement - they were 5000/1 odds against at the start of the season, they weren't, ever, in any season, expected to be in the top 6 or 8 let alone winning it; there are many, many teams with far, far bigger budgets (like orders of magnitude bigger) and far better players. Also unless you know what the acronyms are you may not realise the magnitude of some of these moments - 'UCL' is UEFA Champions League, for example; the absolute pinnacle of European club football, where all the best teams from the whole of Europe compete every year, and by far the highest standard of football in the world, much more so than the World Cup, Premier League etc. Also things like Iniesta's winning World Cup goal for Spain; sure, it's special because it's the World Cup Final, and the subtitle said that, but additional context is that it was in extra time after the game was tied, it was Spain's first ever World Cup after nearly 100 years of underachieving (they have always had one of the biggest leagues, the world's best players all play or have played in Spain and they have 2 of the biggest and best club sides in history there, including the most successful club side of all time, yet their national team always underachieved at World Cups, they'd never even reached the final before this. Also when Iniesta removed his shirt after scoring, there's a message written on his vest underneath, which is a tribute to his friend and fellow Spanish footballer who died not long before that. Loads more of these clips still lack sufficient context, even with the subtitles. If you're curious about any one in particular just ask and I'll provide the full context where I can. Hope this helps.

6:35 an equaliser is the goal to level the score, for example 1-1 or 2-2. Golden goal is how knockout games used to be decided, they played next goal wins essentially

Equalizer is exactly that, ties the game up, and with it being the final, the match went into extra time, back then Golden Goal was the rule for extra time, next score wins, So Iniesta (In-yes-tah) tied the game up then Trezeguet (just tres-eh-gey) scored the winner. These days Extra time is played out fully, 2 15 minute halves, if no one has won, then it goes to a Penalty shootout. Also, Tottenham making their 4 goal comeback and Liverpool battering Barca 4-0 in the second leg happened in the same week iirc, it was nuts!

I think it was put there in this video because it summarizes what it is for a nation, any nation, to win the World Cup. When the SuperBowl is watched by 150M people, give or take, the football World Cup is watched by 4B people, half of mankind, give or take ! That's what it means, how much it weights on the happy few actually on the grass playing ! Fun fact, i broke the horn of my car that day, honking insanly to share the happiness 😅 and saw people shaking a cop car with the cops inside, so hard i thought it was about to roll (fortunately not) and the cops were laughing and smilling so hard, all the streets were litterally invaded by joyfull people, it was trully an incredible moment !!! Thank you for recalling these memories ! 🖖

The golden goal rule : in knockout games, if the score at the end of regular time is a draw there is another 30 minutes of extra time. During that extra time the first team to score wins the match and the match ends. That goal is the golden goal.

The thing about football stadiums is that they honestly aren't as big capacity wise as American stadiums (mostly due to population differences) but iconic football grounds as known less for capacity than they are for atmosphere. Generated by the singing and dancing supporters, and the acoustics of the ground.

when you mentioned about the years, my team is sunderland formed in 1879, we have only won the FA cup (uk cup) twice, in 1937 and 1973, i watched the 1973 win, with my parents, when sunderlnad scored, we jump so hard, we broke the couch, and old 1970's wooden one, shoved it in the corner sat on the floor, it does not change the fans, it changes a town or city, when your club does well, we are are top on championship, there is a buzz about the city, could this be promition year.

I'm no football fan at all. But I caught that final minute of the England - Greece match where David Beckham had to score that free kick to keep England in the competition. Bending that ball into the top corner in what I think was the very last minute of the game, under that level of pressure- even I have to applaud that level of skill.
