First and foremost... congratulations on the birth of your blessing.. secondly thanks for the authentic reaction... I've commented a few time on this performance and nobody grasps what I'm saying, everyone compares her to Angelina, but I think you should review an artist I believe Aurora reminds me of...the song is called...one more colour, by the artist Jane Siberry... Imagine Jane Siberry mixed with a bit of Sinead O'Connor and maybe a bit of Cyndi Lauper.....and you have Aurora.. please let me know what you think.

I feel you on that. I'm like 12 years older than her....but in a weird way, I honestly look UP to her as a person. She's basically my favorite human currently on this planet....and it's all down to her wisdom, creativity, and kindness. And the FREEDOM she exudes and that I find so inspiring. My coworkers like to tease me about my borderline obsession with her...and to be fair, yeah...I can see how it might seem a bit cringe lol. But tbh....this world can be SO full of negativity and cruelty and the banality of daily life....so I hugely appreciate someone like Aurora just showing people like me there's another way to BE. I think a huge part of my connection to her vibe is that I'm an INFP, on the Meyers Briggs....and Aurora is thoroughly INFP herself. I'm VERY introverted...and honestly, I love it. But the world always makes introverts feel like they're missing out on the important stuff. Which is why I love how Aurora is not just an introvert...but a HYPER introvert. I always think of her quote from HAIK, where she said she liked being by herself because if she _wasn't_ alone...she said, "I'd worry what I was missing out on." Basically flipping the shame extroverts usually lord over us. : Anyway....I'm rambling. I'm sure you get where I'm coming from lol.
@dmwalker24 Жыл бұрын
@@avedic Yeah, I'm right there with you on many of your points. Also very introverted, and not upset about it. Music has always been kind of the artistic center of my world, and her magic (no better word in English to describe it) is something that, as far as I know, is entirely unique to her. Never come across anything else like it. But beyond that, she is just genuinely an amazing person. I've seen people listen to Queendom, and get upset like she is trying to be 'female centric' which is of course absurd, and also an observation entirely by people who think in 'male centric' terms. I love that song so much, because it's like the anthem for Aurora's inclusion of everyone who isn't trying to be mean or hateful. If she really built that Queendom, there's nowhere else I'd want to live. If everyone lived by Aurora's ideals, the world would be a truly amazing place.

Hi Jess, hi Mike, goosebumps and shivers all over my body - every single time I hear this song. For me this is a masterpiece. So much feeling that AURORA brings to this song. This song must mean a lot to her. And the statement is simple and a commonly known truth. And yet as adults, at least most of us, we lose sight through the eyes of a child. I wish AURORA that she never grows up in that sense. Then we will continue to get such beautiful songs from her. We need someone to keep reminding us of this simple truth. She sang that in Norway's biggest cathedral. It was a whole concert in the run-up to Christmas 2017. AURORA was 21 yo. AURORA (Aurora Aksnes) was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is a singer, songwriter and producer with a style all her own. AURORA's songs always have a strong message. Often the messages are not very clear either. They can be interpreted so that many people can relate them to themselves. Her movements when singing are extraordinary. This isn't a dance. This is her special way of expression. You can also say that she sings with her whole body. Her excellent music, her brilliant voice and her movements. AURORA's live performances are a total work of art. She is often so into the song that she shakes her body or head uncontrollably (--> Murder song, It happened quiet) and need 2-3 seconds to come back. She is capable of transporting feelings because she allows a look into her soul. Her fans call themselves warriors and weirdos. AURORA once said: People tend to believe quite quickly that something is wrong with them if they're not like the people they see in front of them It's so sad that it doesn't take much for us to really doubt ourselves - Murder song (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJmThIqKi9yLrtk - the saddest love song I've ever heard - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4aQf2mCpt-Xf68 - it's about the rape of a woman - some say - these great harmonies - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k - the song is her way of suicide prevention - The Seed (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX7GkIKDatSBd5o - it's about the climat change, AURORAS “Earth Song” I usually prefer her live performances. But in somecases the VEVO video is more impressive. I hope you enjoy AURORA. Three important bits of information I found from another commenter: 1. -- In a recent interview she said "well, the last song I wrote is meant for my 7th album.” - AURORA's latest album, the fourth, was released on January 21, 2022. She's already in the planning for the 7th. 2. -- AURORA was a teen when she answered the question "are some of your songs related (on different albums)?" - it will all make sense when I have finished. - AURORA has a plan and we don't know the destination yet. But it is important to know that everything belongs together. 3. AURORA is holding back one song from every decade of her life to release those songs as the last album after her death. Which artist does that? Have a nice day and Greetings from Germany

I’ve seen her live 3 times and I’ve no hesitation in saying she’s the best live performer I’ve ever seen to say she’s outstanding would be an understatement she simply is the essence of what the true art of music should be all about forget all your media driven mainstream music that churn out all the same lyrics and cliches that you’ve heard hundreds of times before Aurora is head and shoulders above anyone else. Please react to another song from this concert called Lucky which she wrote at the age of 9 and be prepared for more tears it’s heartbreakingly beautiful and for a girl of 9 to write it is astonishing.enjoy your journey and as Aurora would say “let love conquer your mind “sending ❤️from the UK

What a lovely reaction🤗 This is such a beautiful song and performance, actually the whole concert is out of this world😍😍 In an interview, she said: "Through the Eyes of a Child is one of the most important songs for me. It's about, the older you get, the more you see, and it's kind of like you miss the times when you thought everyone was nice, and that everything was nice, because it's hard to know all the darkness. Also we have lots of light, and I know that as well. But it's kind of like wanting to go back to the innocence, and see the world through the eyes of a child. It's a very important song for me.” Nidarosdomen or Nidaros Cathedral is Olav the Saint's (the Viking king that christianized Norway) burial church, pilgrimage destination, signing church - and Norway's national shrine. Aurora is a true storyteller, and she writes all her songs. Some she wrote as a child from 9 years and up. If you want to see a more energetic Aurora, then please react to: “All is Soft Inside” live at KEXP Iceland 2018 Björk was in the audience Beautiful harmonies: “It Happened Quiet” live at Current The song was inspired by domestic violence, and in the end she (the victim) comes back to haunt the one that hurt/killed her With released, unreleased, covers and featuring artist, she has over 100 songs. And imo she doesn’t have one bad song🥰

For some reason my best memory with Aurora,was a interview she did with a reporter for a tv programme,with them both being out in the nature,driving abit in a car at one point. Where she opened up about her upbringing. She said she had imaginary friends,and this is how she choosed to picture her parents to us: "My parents always treated the fact that i had imaginary friends as the most natural thing in the world,so they would set extra plates,glasses,forks,knives and spoons for my imaginary friends. They always treated me with love and understanding,not at any point would they bring up that we should look this up,to find a potential diagnosis or anything. Reporter/interviewer: "Did the kids bully you as a kid?" "The kids at the school never really hardcore bullied me,but there were people in my class laughing at me for scoring really high on a IQ test we all took. But i was the type of kid that confronted them right away with "What are you laughing at,whats so funny?!" Whereas they would say "You are so weird!". "But they really never said anything more after that point". I think personally that Aurora grabbed the Bull by its horns early on so to speak,and therefor choked any evil attempts of ongoing bullying. Often bullies will pick victims they dont think have the courage to speak up,that only takes it and takes it. Do i personally think that there is something there,that makes Aurora so special? Shes RAZOR sharp on any test she takes,and she words herself flawlessly both vocally and with pen and paper. But she has something to her,something unique. Something mean people would throw evil words at. I personally think that yes there is something there,its sort of obvious. But hearing her story about her parents,i knew that they had been discussing this themselfs and came to the conclusion that "our daughter is brilliant,she speaks flawless,she is not slow in any shape or form,shes not in pain or discomfort for whatever shes having,and most importantly: Shes at peace and happy with her current self and life. Knowing that and how much a potential diagnosis would stirr up things,i totally respect and stand by theyr decision. Who didnt fight imaginary enemies with a toy sword as a kid?! Im sure i fought a horde of them under a sprinkler,pretending it was a waterfall Thats why i have just called her an Angel all theese years,because shes unique. And she treats and interacts with people around her like they have been with her since childhood. And no,shes not related to Angelina Jordan,although both treats everyone around them like that,and does theyr own thing to the highest quality. Aurora was born June 15th 1996 in the city of Stavanger,so she is only 26 turning 27 this summer There are actually a ton of really good female young artists from Norway. Have you heard or seen: Dagny - Somebody (Live at P3 Gull) ? Live from P3 Gold,P3 being the third biggest radio station in Norway currently,and P3 Gold is theyr tv programme where they hand out awards and arrange live music for television. Here Dagny is performing at the top of theyr roof,in Oslo at night. Stunning performance! This song was highly popular in the US not too long ago,as she has been over there doing promotion work. Julie Bergan - Blackout (Live @ Lindmo NRK) Stunning lady with a gorgeous voice,i might even tip her off on a potential future reaction,she will more then likely shout you guys out and be ecstatic! Shes a sweetheart and a really self ironic lady,she cracks me up alot. If you want to hear how Blackout originally sounds like: Julie Bergan - Blackout (Official Music Video) I find the live performance even more stunning,thats why i suggest it first. Victoria Nadine - Happy Tears (Lyric Video) Dropped just 9 days ago,i think you will find her ADORABLE,long dark hair like Angelina and just the cutest dollface! This song is really good too,the world is sleeping on theese cuties. Want Victoria to really touch you? Victoria Nadine - Saw It Coming (She opens her heart completely with this one) Astrid S, Dagny - Pretty (Lyric Video) Astrid S is another sweetheart,and she happens to be best friends with both Dagny and Julie Bergan. This collab and video will lift your spirits! And you get to experience theyr personalities,very witty and not taking themselfs seriously,but at the same time being sooo adorable. Sigrid - Sucker Punch (A cutie at the same age as Aurora,has ALOT of music videos on YT) Ina Wroldsen - Lay It On Me (live) Its live from Norwegian Idol,a stunning performance where she shows abit of her vocal range. If you rather want to go with a official music video with her,i got the perfect one: Ina Wroldsen - Mother (Official Video) You might want tissues closeby for that one. Last but not least,i wonder if you are ready for this lady,Susanne Sundfør (pronounced "SunnFUR") Here is a brilliant live collab with the duo Röyksopp (smoke mushroom) Röyksopp - Running To The Sea feat. Susanne Sundfør (Live on Lydverket). Its actually a song theese 3 artists did together after they watched the news about the terror attacks in Oslo on Friday 22nd of July 2011,and what the surviving teens told the media about what happened on the island. There is a music video too for this song,and it contains alot of norse mythology,norwegian folklore in it on top of showing imagery that has teared up many a parent,especially the dads that lost theyr daughters/sons in the terror attacks. Dont worry,not anything gory or stuff like that,but more along the lines of a dad seeing visions of his daughter,and starts running after her,only to realize it was just a vision,that she is indeed gone forever. Its best described like this up front with the backstory,or else the video wont have such a powerful message. Susanne is one amazing singer songwriter,here is her visiting Jimmy Kimmel because she collabed with M83 in making the soundtrack for Tom Cruises movie Oblivion: M83 Performs Oblivion Featuring Susanne Sundfør. Susanne is the oldest of theese,she has been around for some time already and is today 37 years of age,so she has ALOT of good music out there. M83 is a French band that is now based in California,US. They headhunted Susanne for this song,and if you ask me,they created magic! So as you can see (and theese are not all of them) There are more to female artists in Norway then Angelina Jordan and Aurora,the world is simply sleeping on the others lol.

One of the *many* songs that completely enthrall me about Aurora. I highly recommend The River... A song about the beauty in showing emotion and letting the tears fall as you would let nature run it's course. She's only of the very few artists that has the talent to reach right into the soul, comfort you and reassure you while showing you it's ok to be who you are, feel your emotions and find happiness in even the smallest things. Unifying, fighter for underdogs, lover of nature, childlike and as authentic as you can get. Even interviews have many profound thoughts for someone so young along with her quirky sense of humor which is endearing. I highly recommend the HAIK documentary & concert... full of surprises for her, joy, tears, all topped by a performance in the same forest she spent her childhood in alone. Even just The River from that concert just brings such joy.

Aurora has many beautiful and very different concerts available on KZbin. Nidarodosmen is one of them, there is also the Haik concert, in the forest behind her house. Would recommend The Seed and Infections of a different kind from that one. For an intimate setting but powerful vibes, see her perform All is Soft Inside at KEXP. A less known concert is the Somewhere Else Festival, without audience, her performance of A Different Kind of Human is my absolute favorite. By the way, she made her own cover (she makes unforgetable covers also) of Into the Unknown from Frozen II, you should listen to it, it's so different from the Disney version.

Aurora breaks our hearts with this powerful song but that smile at the end lets us know that everything will be alright. The Nidarosdomen concert is an artistic masterpiece in every respect ( the performances of all the musicians, the quality of the songs (Aurora's and the great cover choices), the setting and the peerless production values of the Norwegian broadcaster NRK). If it is not perfection, then perfection is not possible. I have watched the performance of this song nearly a hundred times in the original and on reactor channels. I am a cynical 66 year old male and I know what is coming, yet I shed a tear every time (also crying in response to a number of Aurora's songs). As a result, I have come to two conclusions, 1/ There is no other current artist as magical as Aurora, and 2/ I need to buy shares in Kimberley-Clark to get back some of my tissue expenditure.

Beautiful reaction to a beautiful artist and performance. And congrats on the newest addition to the family! 🤟 I think the natural follow-up to this one would be "Lucky" from the same show. It's another beautiful, emotional song, that is performed insanely good. Based on my experience, "Through the Eyes of a Child" and "Lucky" are probably her two most popular songs from this show, and two of her most popular live performances anywhere. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k

It's not Angelina Jolie style. If anything, Angelina has the Aurora style. Aurora has been in business a little longer and she is absolutely unique. By the way, you only know Billy Elish because Billie saw Aurora's Runaway one day and decided she wanted to do the same. Billie told this in an interview. Aurora played piano for the first time at the age of 6. She has been writing songs since she was 9. At that age she wrote the song "Lucky". An anti-suicide / anti depression song. Imagine that. Aurora - Lucky (live Niderosdomen) same concert. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k Would I recommend that you do this with us next. She produces and composes herself. She also writes songs for other singers. She is absolutely down to earth and shows a fan proximity that is second to none. She talks to her fans before, during and after her concerts. She usually does this until her manager has to remind her to leave because she forgets the time. She is highly intelligent and extremely funny. Partly very dark humor. She is a lovely person who knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn't. And she's a troll in the best sense of the word. You should definitely watch compilations of funny interviews with her. Very entertaining. 😁

Thank you for sharing all of this amazing information about Aurora! It's really impressive that she started playing piano at such a young age and has been writing songs since she was 9. "Lucky" sounds like a very powerful song with an important message. It's great to hear that she is not only a talented musician but also down-to-earth and has a great sense of humor. I'll definitely check out some of her funny interview compilations, thank you for the recommendation! 💚💜

If you do intend to see more of Aurora, you will certainly get requests for "It Happened Quiet". Please check out the live, in-studio performance at "The Current". It's just her, and a backing vocalist named Silja Sol. Silja has like the perfect voice to accompany Aurora's (she toured with Aurora for a number of years), and the harmonies are so gorgeous in that version. There is also a version from Nidarosdomen, but you miss out on the harmonies from Silja, and Aurora actually seems to strain her voice a little too much in that one. Anyway, here's the link to the 'best' version of that song (it's the most-viewed performance of that song too): Aurora - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4aQf2mCpt-Xf68

Nice reaction. Let's say she's not bad (😀)... she shines so much here, without pretense or desire to really show off, just expressing and living her song with all her being. Now you have to experience her singing in the simplest setting, a guitar and two voices, in exemple: AURORA - MURDER SONG (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJmThIqKi9yLrtk or Aurora - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current): kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4aQf2mCpt-Xf68 They are dark songs, but so beautiful...

Thank you for the recommendation and for sharing your thoughts on Aurora's performance. Great reaction, Guys! This is probably my favorite performance by Aurora, but just like with Angelina, it's kinda hard to sort them in perfect order 🤣 (Read IMPOSSIBLE). But now that you have done ONE of her performances from this beautiful concert, why not do another one ? A song that she wrote at age 9, only to make some final touches to it a few years later. The song is called "Lucky" and would make for the perfect sequel IMO. Here is the link : kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k Btw, this concert was held in Norway's oldest and most beautiful cathedral, called Nidarosdomen, which dates back to the 11th century, right after the viking era. Is has hosted countless coronations and royal burials. To this day one of Norway's most famous kings lies buried under the altar. This whole concert is off the charts beautiful, you will see as you keep reacting to her. Another thing - Can you guys imagine how lucky I was when I got to see both Angelina and Aurora live in concert last year ?? Angelina outdoors and Aurora indoors. Two of the most incredible musical experiences of my life, no cap. I'm looking very much forward to your next reaction to either one of those two incredible artists! Much love from Norway, as always ♥♥♥♥♥
@CarlD70 Жыл бұрын
As always PHS, great comment. You probably realize I love both of these Norwegian artists.....totally different but bring the same feelings, emotion and passion to their craft. Recently watched a reaction from Mathias MM, you know who I mean since you frequent his channel, as I did also. He used Angelina to triple his subs, many reactors do the same and move on, and I can usually spot them a mile away...but actually thought John was sincere. Recently watched a Aurora reaction there, Queendom at KEXP concert and was simply astounded by his statement that Angelina has no "passion" in her singing (must be a different Angelina that I have been following for 6+ years, and supporting). Thought he was the real deal, but really is not. I have weeded out many "fake" reactors recently and he is one of them...Sorry, I know you really like the guy. He is wondering why nobody requests Angelina music on his channel as of late....I know why. Thank you for supporting both of these wonderful artists....as always, and I shall continue too. Becoming fussy now a days and weeding out the BS.
@poolhallshark Жыл бұрын
@@CarlD70 Thanks, Carl 🙂 Yes, it's a shame to see reactors using her as nothing but a booster for their channels. It's to be expected I guess, but at the same time it feels a bit sad, and somewhat like being let down. And at some level you always HAVE to wonder how it's even possible to have listened to her for more than 5 times without being completely hooked. With line and sinker or whatever you call it😅 You are referring to our guy from Maine, right ?? Just to be sure I don't think about the wrong guy. I have seen the same and am navigating more and more away from his channel. I still like the guy, but he'll lose me still. We don't have time for nothing but dedication at this stage. When AJ makes it big I will probably step off the accelerator a bit myself. Then we have done what we can do I think. Take care, Carl ! I appreciate you ♥♥♥

In my opinion Aurora is the reverse of Angelina regarding age. Angelina looks much more mature than she is (in the last few years at least), while Aurora looks younger than she is. Aurora was 21 in this video, and 19 in the previous one (even though she looks 14-16 in that one imo).
