Just seen your farm on tv ('Nationwide', I think) whilst having dinner down here in Co. Tipp. During meals I usually don't watch farming but yours looked so clean, wholesome and well looked after, even the goats'n'cows. Seeing your flock of hens following you around was so touching, then your white turkeys likewise, all of them looked so happy & healthy. Wish I lived near enough to purchase your produce direct or locally here. An impressive operation that is a credit to you - and Ireland!

That young man is amazing with all his chickens and how he rotate them. And the garden is truly stunning I mean so beautiful. Just so lush with blooms, and not a weed anywhere. So wish I had the access to do what he is doing. Been looking for a couple acres for a while now. Just everything is so expensive right now.

Lease idle land. Western Europe is rotten with idle agricultural land (thanks to EU commercial regulation). Its such a better proposition economically. Leasing for €25‐100 per acre per year for agricultural use, vs. buying farmland for €5,000-10,000 per acre.

Slick operation. How is Mr. Cathal Mooney's overall thoughts on his farm? Does he feel he's hit his targets? Is his work-life balance satisfactory? Is he growing the farm in new directions? Etc? Probably hard work - but beautiful way of life: That's imho very good living. Perhaps not glamorous.

I am a young man from Morocco, 30 years old. I have experience working in farms and caring for sheep. I drive a harvesting machine and a tractor. I am looking for a work contract in one of the farms. The monthly salary does not matter. I do this work out of love.

Very nice to see, I'm still looking for a good idea for 3,000 square meters, where my dairy goats now graze and I have too much grass. Would like to have laying hens graze on it after the goats, but don't know if the birds of prey will leave them alone.

I have 2 questions, are the chickens also provided with water and feed inside the wagon? And how much grams of feed do you need to feed the layers extra per day on top of their grass ration?
@seandoherty4236
@seandoherty4236 Жыл бұрын
No food or water in the sleeping wagon. Layers and broilers is almost 100% feed, they don't eat much grass. However if your land has lots of insects, worms and slugs you can cut down on your feed. Provided they are put out on pasture. How much you feed will vary depending on how fast you want to fatten them up.
