I just love the mutual respect. John being on Matt's vlog, and Matt respecting the Amish values. This, is how we honor mutual respect and true diversity at the same time.

You guys should mention what’s going on with PFOAS and PFAs with the DOD so that new farmers can avoid the suicide that is buying a farm with contaminated groundwater. It’s a rabbit hole everyone should go down..

John has been a huge inspiration in my journey since learning about his work back in 2015. AEA's products are some of the highest quality I've ever used--I've essentially mandated them for all of my clients , especially the soil primer and premixed micro and macro mineral blends.

With reference to the Chinese selenium map, this has been done in the US. William Albrect was the head of the soil science department at the University of Missouri from the 1930's to the 1960's. When he wrote his PhD dissertation, he looked at WW1 draft records(no interstate highway system back then). He found a correlation between the percentage of recruits found unfit for the draft and soil mineral saturation. In later research, he worked out a soil mineral balance for growing nutrient dense food. I live in Columbia, Missouri, where he did his research. When I tried quoting his research in a Master Gardeners meeting, I was shouted down.

Hope tp be able to afford a kind harvest membership this year! I dont have a farm, but there's a pecan farm here in Texas that didn't get a harvest last year, and I want to be able to help these (and other!) people. Wonder how many KindHarvest members have felt empowered to help others make better choices. Would love to be able to go through the training program the AEA team does.

When I asked Ray Cirino who to ask about soil remediation post fire he told me to ask Wes who told me to reach out to you. I'm working on workshops for fire victims in Havila and Altadena and plan to host a festival in April. Anyone out there want to help with that? I am flying by the seat of my pants here and will take any guidance I can get!

Well I am not going to be indirect. Your comment is a question form, yet it seems like it is not well formulated. Yes of course the podcast was intentionally altered by covering John's upper body image. I believe your question is obvious and I suggest it is one not only you asking. The reason(s), again obviously, are conscious choices both on Matt's and John's side. The system of thought that a person uses is borrowed from a society that they grow up in, to which they add their minds and the society gets influenced by the addition of a new mind. John Kempf was born, raised and still lives as a father and family member in a community called Amish. The answer to your real question "why does John Kempf not want to have his upper body image showing up on this podcast?" is a complicated thought system that is very different from the great majority of people in USA and Canada.

The Amish believe that to fully observe the command not to have "any image of God's" includes not having your image or face on Media like TV.

Why is there an avatar interviewing Matt?
@ShannonMM1811 күн бұрын
Amish are typically wary of showing one’s face direct on camera. When Amish do agree to interviews on camera, they are often done from the side or with face obscured.

Try letting go of your programming and use the podcast like a radio broadcast. A person values their own programming because it feels like "I". This podcast is about farming and attitudes about this, which John Kempf is constantly trying to explain requires diversity. Okay John Kempf is different, yeah but what is the problem with accepting a person who doesn't conform to mass media social norms?
@joshuafinch919213 күн бұрын
From what I understand, it is a community norm that stems from his religious background. It may seem strange that he is so public, yet not willing to have his face be seen, but that's the way he and his community do things. Nothing nefarious.
@blagoeres12 күн бұрын
Its big deal that people are focused on unimportant things like John's choice to not show his face online. His choice and just respect it.
@ballaghmicrofarm9 күн бұрын
Like any religious cult they hate everyone except their own kind, mostly because whichever deity they follow (take your pick) gives them the right to kill or abuse outsiders or non-believers. This person doesn’t want to be shunned or abused as I expect is the reason; and absolute confirmation of my understanding of religious cults. Ra be upon you ❤
