Reggie Calloway, it was good to hear you and Midnight Star 🌟 history and climbing the ladder to success in the music industry. I move from Cleveland to Cincinnati, Ohio in the 1984 and during that winter time I think the song " Slow Jam " was out at that time, but in 1985 and 86' " No Parking on the Dance Floor " was out at the time and like you said in the interview clip, yes Cincinnati was all about the 'Midnight Star' sound & groove. I follow you on IG and it's good to see you getting involved in the committee boards for the music industry so they can do good by paying the recording artist properly. Cause we all know in the past century alot of our legendary recording artist never did get paid properly and they ended up broke and, as well, died broke. So I tip my hat to you brother, cause I got a chance on a local standpoint got a chance to see you and founder members of Midnight star go the distance through the years of your success and along side of you all success do greater things throughout your business careers.

A nice interview and I learned quite a few things. I probably saw them at least 3 or 4 times in Dayton and Cincinnati before they got their deal on Solar. They were tight even then, i knew they would be good. Southwestern Ohio from Dayton to Hamilton to Cincinnati produced some of the world's great Funk legends.

HOW THE FUNK CAPITAL OF THE WORLD IS FIGHTING TO KEEP ITS LEGACY ALIVE IN DAYTON OHIO! Stephen StarrJUN 19 2019. When Dayton’s The Funk Music Hall of Fame & Exhibition Center - aka TheFunkCenter - opened in December 2017, locals delighted in it marrying a proud musical tradition with hope for the revival of a city long down on its luck. Built to celebrate the Ohio city’s reputation as ground zero of the funk world, the center drew volunteers and experts from the Netherlands, Japan and the U.K. and superstar names from Dayton’s 1970s and ’80s funk scene, who pieced together the decades-old instruments, records and memorabilia on display. *"Midnight Star the band, Midnight Star the song" let me clear this up. When I was a music student at Howard University in D.C. during the late 70's I wrote a song called "Midnight Star", at that time I had never heard of the band "Midnight Star". During the taping of the Teddy Pendergrass documentary we decided to record the song over again with new Philly musicians because the first recorded tracks from 1980 recorded by some of Teddy's band members were lost when Teddy stop performing. So this is the 2019 version of that same song with all the background vocals record by a former member of "The Three Degrees" June Payne. **kzbin.info/www/bejne/npjXY5SfrbWqY9U*
