@KingsCrossHarry I think Martin Clunes deadpan interpretation is almost as good as the sublime Mr Rossiter. The late great Leonard Rossiter is still the best!

I watched this when it was first broadcast, and didn’t like it. I’ve now watched all 4 of the original series, and read the 4 corresponding books. If you take this as something entirely different from the Leonard Rossiter series, I actually like this. Simon Nye’s outrageous comedy helps too. And I’ve certainly had this conversation with one of my managers: Him: Morning John. Good weekend? Me: No Him: Good
