It's an interesting question why Regina bothered to shield her castle. Did she plan on returning someday? Just playing it safe in case Rumple was right and Emma broke the curse? After all, she told Charming in S2 that she had no idea how to get back to the EF and I think she was telling the truth.

Technically, no. The Winter Castle belonged to Leopold 'in right of the Crown'. When Leopold died it would pass to his oldest son, which he didn't have. Absent a son, the crown and the properties and estates thereof would pass to Snow as the new Queen Regnant. So David has it right.

Nope . The castle is property of a crown . Which means that on the death of the king it will pass to the eldest child of the king , or with male primogeniture , another direct male relative . Which means it belongs to Snow or if male primogeniture existed then a first cousin . Usually widowed consorts were left at the mercy of the next monarch - so Regina is not even a queen , just Snow's regent - turned to an usurper .

Regina played well in this one. Regina the Evil Queen: "Why is she pregnant and I'm the one who's sick?" Charming: "Technically the castle was Snow's before she took it." Regina the Evil Queen: "Uh, to be fair, I'm marridd into it." Me: "And to also be fair on a technicalkty, Charming, she didn't take anything. She was left behind with it when Snow decided to run away."

Snow didn't 'decide to run away'. She ran for her life because Regina was trying to murder her. The castle is still Snow's, because she is the daughter of King Leopold. Her claim comes ahead of Regina, who is the 'Queen Dowager' or 'Queen Mother', by marriage.

Yeah, but that doesn't affect her claim on the castle. Regina has _some_ claim there as Leopold's widow, (neglecting her role in his death) but Snow is primary as the heiress.

@@shermanlee4037 so, what's ur point? U basically agreed 2 most of everything that I said. Even though she was a wretched and legit evil ruler, her title as queen still stood as long as she wanted 2. And right now, there's no need 2 question who's next in line for the throne since she was crowned again, and their dysfunction family shows her having a 21-year-old step daughter who gave birth 2 a child who also gave birth 2 someone who was a Prince adopted by Regina. I'm still curious on that. See, this is why I want more seasons and episodes. They should tell us who's Regina would crown next. I mean, Mary Margaret and David were king and queen 4 a while, but that was only bc of the beginning of season 4 and they were the 1's who cast that 2nd curse. But, she was queen again, and Mary Margaret were still Prince and princess, including little Henry. I need this show to go on.

@@shermanlee4037 uh, yeah, it kind of does. she ran away from it. she gave it up. it doesn't matter if she returned. JUST like emma and henry. emma gave henry up. regina watched over her. snow gave up her life in the castle and thus the castle and proper care of the kingdom. regina watched over (albeit, not in the best way). if emma doesn't get to have claim over henry, i don't see why snow should have claim over the castle. one does weight heavier than the other but in most sense, they are the same thing.
