The song had initially appeared on her 2003 album Soviet Kitsch, but it wasn't made into "a single" until 2006.

Just technically speaking this perfomance is mind blowing, let alone the incredibly creative composition, taste and lyrics. What an artist!

I've been a fan of her music for years now but I'll never get over how absolutely passionate she is while performing; her smile, the way she plays the piano, THAT SMILE AFTER HITTING THE NOTES AND THE AUDIENCE CLAPPED. Dude, do you know the things you're talikng to? Have you ever try to tune vocals from concert? The vocal mic catches a lot of sounds besides the vocal. More than you can imagine. So the quality tuning from concert record is impossible. (Of course you can always say the vocal was rerecorded in a studio.)

@@TheChudovische live autotune absolutely exists. Look up Simon and Garfunkel doing The Sound of Silence live a few years ago. You're correct about it being a mess though. It can be nowhere near as finessed so there's usually lots of artifacts.

In fact you can hear it clearly on her vocals when she transitions quickly between notes. Just a quick jitter as the note locks in. Also the eerie pitch perfect singing that humans never actually achieve naturally.
