Regina is one person that you have to hear live to truly understand how amazing her voice really is, a recording just cant capture how incredible she sounds.

Who else is replaying this repeatedly? I know I am. This song, to me, isn't like her other songs. I'm not sure how to explain it but it's doesn't have the usual quirky that her other songs have if you know what I mean. I've never heard a truly sad song like this one by her. Despite this, I absolutely love what she has done here. This song makes me tear and is incredible. Regina is so versatile as an artist. :)

My heart aches as this song is a reminder of a lover I can't nor want to replace. It's been three years and this line: "How can I love someone new? Someone who isn't you" Reverberates deeper everytime.

That's just reverb! Its meant to make the sound more full. Almost all studios systems have it, and all f.m systems! Reverb doesn't fix any tuning, if you use too much it sounds artificial and makes your voice echo a bit, that would be why you think it sounds auto tuned!
@KidIndigo110 жыл бұрын

This sparse piano ballad is a straightforward breakup song, a rarity for Regina Spektor, who is better known for her stream of conscious lyrical content. Producer Mike Elizondo called it, “one of the most beautiful vocals I’ve ever been a part of capturing. It really felt like she was laying her heart out there. She was coming clean with how she’s feeling in that particular moment. It’s pretty special when you can get a performer like her to pull that off.” Hats 🎩 off to you, Regina Ilyinichna Spektor❕ 💚🗡️ 💙🖊️💜

@OakRidgePunk7779 жыл бұрын
There is a little bit of tuning going on, but I'm sure she didn't need it. It's probably just what the heads of the studio wanted anyway.

@user-kh9ki3kq8m8 жыл бұрын
that's autotune... It's so heavy that you can literally hear the corrections when she changes notes. Wonder why they did that to her voice though.
@floyd9048 жыл бұрын
Do you even know how auto tune sounds? You guys are fucking deaf.
@user-kh9ki3kq8m8 жыл бұрын
+Sasha Withers reverb does not make your voice modulated like that. Reverb does not make your voice automatically go to the next note up. I'm a musician and a singer trust me. You can tell they added some voice correction to her because her voice never slides up to a note, it just picks the closes note and goes straight to that one. Not trying to blame her, she sings wonderfully without it, it's the recorders fault for making her voice like that.

It's not autotune, it something else like Melodyne. Coming from a audio producer I can tell you that, yes, this has been overly corrected by whoever edited the recording. Regina has a great voice so it's completely pointless to even think of pitch correcting but it has still been done.
