Such a great interview; very cute, charismatic and funny. I had the privilege of meeting Elton in 2000. He was genuinely kind and gracious. Very strong handshake 😊

1976 my friend calls me he has an extra ticket to see Elton that night in concert - i say no thanks - he says its a free ticket - i say no thanks, not an Elton fan - my friend practically has to twist my arm to go - i go - the greatest entertainment experience i ever had by far - three hour show, Elton at his musical peak - great singer, piano player, entertainer - but those songs - amazing - sure i knew the hits but the album tracks i didn't know were brilliant - the next day i started buying up elton john records, and taught myself to play the piano and started writing songs - since then i have seen Elton in concert many many times with a band, solo with just Ray Cooper, with Billy Joel - he is a genius and a great human being with his charitable work. God bless Elton, Bernie Taupin and their families!

He seemed so polite, easy going and very sociable, someone that would naturally attract a crowd even if he weren't star. In watching Elton here, this is, to me, a personality that very few would not want to be around.

Thank you for the reply. It's so exciting for me to be able to see all these videos of Elton that would not be accessible to most of us if it weren't for websites like KZbin. Every so often, I catch something wonderful I didn't know existed from years ago. Long Live Elton!!!!!

I TOTALLY agree! He is so adorable here, so shy yet so humble and brave! He does have the cutest laugh in the world; I always thought it sounded like a series of hiccups! Ans when he smiles he has those cute cheek dimples and square, little baby teeth. What a cutie! And his sincere, honest tone makes him appear trustworthy and delightful to hang out with. Elton could do no wrong to his fans.

Elton's very charismatic and adorable! (as well as flying real high) It was a good interview, and I spit my soda out when Tom Snyder commented that he was waiting for Elton to 'take a breath' before commenting back to him. lol

We saw him that Friday night in Raleigh, NC. It was so hot in the NCSU auditorium. We were first in line for tickets, but still so many tix for VIPs and radio ppl, we were half way back in the audience. He was very good though. And so gracious. It was 1980. Even then I wished I could of seen him in 1976 during his heyday.

What all of you people commenting on his ending up in Vegas don't get, is that 1. Elton always said things like that. 2. He sure as hell wouldn't have ended up in Vegas way back then. He did, much later, when older and in a different frame of mind. Elton always is very much in the moment.

Snyder not always my cup of tea but he does well with Elton here. Keeps it light and friendly and finds interesting topics around his tour and his big Central Park show. The gay thing had been in the press and gotten a lot of attention; I appreciate Tom not dragging it out even when Elton seemed ready to with the Cartier song.

Why was everyone obsessed with whether he had glasses or hat on? Like I get it he had a little bit of a hair transplant on top and he was known for his crazy glasses but I mean people grow up and out of things I guess, interviewing back then was so invasive why do you do this, why do you do that ? ( I love how he pronounces “Saturday”....). 🥰

1980 was a hard time, before that interview we lost Bon Scott from AC/DC, 8 days later after that interview we lost John Bonham from Led Zeppelin and a couple of months later we lost John Lennon and nobody knew at that point how big of a tragedy that year would be

A little awkward: standing ovation, no, sitting ovation--well, standing in their hearts ....what?! Was Tom on some drugs? Also a bit awkward: when Elton says that line about they know everything and they know nothing about me-- which is the way I like it. And the camera doesn't show Tom, but he's absolutely silent--and Elton keeps his sly grin. Was Tom ......speechless?
@624radicalham

If we're talking awkward, Elton puts his hands out while Tom is holding 2 rings which prompts Tom to say "I'm not putting these rings on you" ... that's awkward

I knew this queen, I met him through his manager John Reid in a gay bar in NYC, John came right up to me & asked me if I wanted a drink the normal bar crap lingo, since I had one already I said no, so the bar tender place a chip by my drink exclaiming that I had a drink coming to me. Anyhow we started talking & he said he was Elton manager truth be told I didn't even care, so I asked him what he did he said he was his manager I was like wow, what else could I say, he than ask ed me if I wanted to see the show I said okay call me tomorrow before 5:00pm sure as hell the hone rang at 5:00pm. I said it appears that you are telling the truth I said what time shall I meet you he said 6:30 at the Helmsley Palace Hotel I said okay, well sure enough he was telling the truth, I wasn't all that star struck like most people would be not that I didn't like his music I'm just not like that, I'm not a person that gets off on other people fame.
@624radicalham
@624radicalham 2 жыл бұрын
Ok so what's the point of your comment. That you had sex with John Reid? That you had sex with Elton John? Or that you're so superior to everyone else in the world that you don't get star struck? The virtue signaling here is disgusting. This is literally the worst story I've ever read.
