I was an intern of this show, and I remember this very well. Nick was so demanding during the rehearsals, asking for more retakes while the other boys were so nice to everyone including Regine. The songbird didn't bring everything out during the rehearsals but to everyone's surprise (including us, the production crew), she dropped the bomb, upstaging 98 degress with their own song.

This is a lesson in manners: no matter how big you are, when you are in another country, show common courtesy. Otherwise, if you decide to be a prick right before you perform with Regine, be prepared to get ANNIHILATED, BIG TIME!!! Regine is one of the nicest, most gracious artists in the Philippines, and it takes a lot to set her off! Too bad Nick Lachey had to learn it the hard way! 😂😂😂

Did you notice the tension between regine and nick lachey? Regine actually was pissed off with nick for some reason that day(you’ll notice the hands on hips stance very early on). Regine don’t normally sing over the featured artists but in this case she did and it was intentional to drown nick lachey’s voice. She recently admitted that on an interview

According to sources, back then Regine was tasked by making them feel comfortable in our country, Have them the Pinoy Hospitality we are very proud of. But this Nick Lachey being an a*s and regine is not having it. So she got upstaged by his own song.
