Angel is not insecure. She has a good ear for music. People don't have to sing like Regine to have a good ear for music. Angel is just giving her constructive criticism. And don't hate her for giving a not so pleasant comment to Regine. She doesn't know Regine that much as much as we do. Regine is a very nice singer and you can't summarize her awesomeness because of this video. I think Regine would admit that she is not at all times at her best. Let us understand that Angel just commented based on this video. Lots of love to all Filipinos! Proud to be in the country with very talented singers!

C'mon, let's give it to her, during her prime she's been performing nonstop doing multiple shows in a day, singing difficult songs as what her audience would want to hear. Not to mention the tv series and movies she's done on the side. She's definitely sang a lot of songs that no one in this world can possibly sing as powerful and magical as she's ever done. She deserves due respect for all that she has contributed in entertaining a lot of people. To say that she is pitchy, trying too hard in this performance, and not able to give justice to the song is absolutely crazy. Sorry but I find that opinion kind of biased with a touch of insecurity. That is just being too critical and non-sense at the same time. Not with this kind of talent, girl. Surely she has had some bad performances at times especially with her condition right now, and this performance may not be one of her best, as she has done so much more performances that is over the top, but the comment from the girl is not quite acceptable and justifiable for me. cheers!

I had to go back and "review" their reaction. There weren't any pitch issues. You don't have to be a singer to know that. It only takes a good ear. Blame it on Regine's voice piercing through the air when she reaches for the stratospheric highs. It was pitch perfect. If you think otherwise, make a note-per-note analysis of parts where she went off key. Only then you can prove that you were right. But peace out! Comparing regine to morissete and charice.. you have no idea about those two look up to her as their inspiration and i meant heads down to regines talent.. and you can't compare this version to steven tyler's armagedon movie themesong.. well i don't know of you had heard in the accompaniment but this song was arranged for regine's pitch and she kind a have this high pitch by nature that makes you think at first, she's pitchy.. the guy on the right side was listening attentively that he was able to clearly hear everything.. good job.. Shes the one who started the belting singing in the Philippines. Since the 80s also she can sing low notes too. Shes in her mid 40s now. This song was 1st performed during 2000 so its really dated now. I agree with the girl tho. I really dont like songs thats all high notes. I like songs with low notes and high notes. But, she has really good song cover too like Light of a Million Morning. Actually, Regine appears in a noon time show for decades so she has to sing several song covers. Shes 1989 Asia-Pacific Singing Champion and has sold 2 asian albums went platinum in 7 asian countries. She used to have really thin voice and she has trouble reaching low notes but as she grew older her voice became thicker and able to reach low notes. She was going to join Miss Saigon the London base theater but she declined the training. She was supposed to go international under Sony US but she chose to stay in her home country.

Regine's "I don't want to miss a thing" version was the most used version in the Philippines, and probably the best version by far, because it's simply phenomenal. That is how she sang a song, w/ power, and art. We respect your opinion M-Angel, maybe you are not just into that type of belting or singing style. Nevertheless, more power to this channel, I remembered, I subscribed to this channel w/ less than a thousand subscribers. But now, road to 50k (y) :D. i once watched a concert of Martin nievera with regine as his guest... man i cried the whole time she sang Forever with Martin. their voices were match made in heaven. i can also feel the whole stadium vibrating because of the power of their voice. That concert is one for the books.

Criticism is when you criticize something that exist. The girl must indicate where the pitchy parts or forced parts are to legitimize her claim. The pitch variations sound consistent all throughout the performances. The delayed vibrato at the end after smoothly soaring in the upper range is an indication that she's perfectly in control of her voice. Few people can do that live on notes above D5 using chest dominant approach. And this is definitely higher than that. Her tone sounds open, bright, vibrant and clear. It gives a sensation that she can still go higher without breaking a sweat. This is not a quality of a forced sound that the girl is pointing out.

For all the haters in the comment sections on the Girl commenting on Regine: You all need to calm down. She didn't hate on Regine she gave her personal opinion. And I respect that - and it is one of the reasons why I subscribed to them. They are being completely honest and not fake. And coming from a Regine fanatic, we don't have to get defensive guys! We love Regine but we have to admit she isn't perfect. BTW, the commenter said "it doesn't do her justice" and "she has the chops" therefore she is complimenting Regine - don't get all crazy. 3:08-3:10 is something like she intentionally sung while dropping one key kasi kinulot niya, I think. Hindi siya flat sa pandinig ko. And that 3:43, it's a bit hurried but that's fine. Hindi naman kaylangang damdamin pa. Kasi from the start, she didn't sing it the way the original singer did. She put her own tweek so it didn't sound hurried at all or as you said, hindi siya tunog "nde din sapol." She cut the word 'babe' short cuz the next line was starting. Her performance was very good, actually. I didn't hear any pitch issue.

The black girl was WAY off base and actually quite ignorant. She should perhaps watch it again to fully make those type of statements. Regine was NOT pitchy in the least and that statement alone makes me doubt any type of expertise coming from this reviewer. I am a life-long musician and have a very good musical ear. The male reviewer makes more sense even though he has less of a musical background. I would like to hear ANY other vocalist try to sing this number, with this arrangement, with as much authority as Regine does.

I am big Regine fan and probably my most favorite artist ever but the girl's reaction may have some merit... When she said it was pitchy because of some audio quality of the video probably, there was a better video of her singing this tho wearing a white dress. Also, when she said that it was not up to her level it is because regine's singing are almost effortless (believe me, i know) and some people can't connect in that perspective. When charice started and she started singing some whitney songs with belting in it, she tends to be theatrical (i meant, with lots of hand movements and whatnot), filipinos somehow dislike it in the beginning but apparently, when she performed in america - she was awesome and she was by the way. But the main part is, regine's high notes are incomparable to other artists. The consistency and the range to hit the high notes is what matters most to filipinos. Artists nowadays put emphasis on emotional deliveries to give a better performance. Regine banked on her vocal prowess to reach out to the listeners. There is no other artists in the world who can deliver a better rendition of her own songs (especially the tagalog ones) because the consistency of her runs are very difficult to sing and the notes are too high.

I respect her opinion, even if they are negative remarks. She's just being an honest reactor. Fellow Filipinos, please don't bash somebody who is being honest. I hate insincere reactors who reacts just to please people to gain more subscribers. For me, I respect Regine's talent especially during her younger days and thought that she is way better than Sharon Cuneta, the more famous singer before Regine. Probably because the lady reactor listened to Charice and Morissette first who both have more to offer, vocal technique-wise and closer in mimicking western singers that she appreciates Regine less. The lady reactor prefers western singing styles more than our OPM style. Charice and Morissette definitely slay every western songs they cover with their techniques. Regine is from my era. These younger singers really have the "wow factor". Morissette, for example has whistles, raspy tone, can swing from low to high notes seamlessly, and nice runs aside from doing belting and vibrato. It's not my nature to idolize somebody but I highly respect Morissette singing skills which have so much variety and wide range. Times has change, it is time to pass the baton to younger generations. Admit it, singing contests in the Philippines are much tougher nowadays than in the past, so it is also highly possible that newer faces may even come out soon at par or even better and younger than Morissette? I am looking forward to this next raw talent. For now Morissette is up there and still has lots of potentials for growth.

She wasn't really the queen of queens, but she is one of the most acknowledged singers here in the Philippines. Her singing style became one of the mainstream styles here once (i think it still lingers on many filipinos though XD). Rather than "the queen of queens", she's branded as "The Asia's Songbird" in the Philippines. Although i didn't exactly hear the pitch issues myself, I think what you heard was due to the low technology from the video. The video is old and if I'm going to estimate, it's probably around 8 to 11 years ago when she performed that? Although, the video is probably uploaded not as long as that. Compared to other filipino singers you've reacted to, hers is old while the others are probably around year 2014 until this year, so there's really a big difference on how her voice and the music would sound like. Additionally, that was probably a part of a show where she really had to showoff, so that explains all of the belting. Lastly, Regine is now married and already gave birth to a child. That video was probably before she was married (or probably even long before she was engaged) (the show she was on, based from the vid, is long gone as well) If you're planning to react more videos from her, i recommend that you pick some that are bit more recent and has a better video quality than what you have watched, so you can experience her better lol. Anyway, this is my first time commenting on your videos, despite the fact that i've been around watching your vids for months already. Yeah lets be honest. That video is really old af and that screaming or trying too hard thing is a bit not appropriate to say coz I know its ur first time to watch and see her but for me as a fan that also have some good taste when it comes to music well, she's effortlessly perfect. She really does have a very thin voice which makes you think that she's pitcy or theres some cracky notes but trust me she has the best belting notes better than celine, mariah or whitney. Try to react to some of her songs which shows her emotional side and maybe it will gonna change ur mind lmao. And fyi she's already 46 now and still belting those killer notes tho, she's suffering from acid reflux which makes her voice a lil cracky everytime she hit those high notes at least she still can do it unlike those other artists that I know who already losts their precious voices.

I absolutely agree. Lets give it to her, during her prime she's been performing nonstop doing multiple shows in a day, singing difficult songs as what her audience would want to hear. Not to mention the tv series and movies she's done on the side. She's definitely sang a lot of songs that no one in this world can possibly sing as powerful and magical as she's ever done. I love your comments you guys. Guess what, I saw this aired on TV back in the day. I perfectly remember that UK boyband Blue was on the show to promote their album and stuff that Sunday (coz this was aired on Sundays way back). And honestly, I agree with M-Angels point of view, that Regine was exerting an effort, not to hit the high notes coz she obviously can effortlessly, but exerting an effort in such a way that she is like saying "Hey we got some folks around from another country so let me handle this OK?"
