I agree. No one can match Regine back to back to back to back. Case in point: Sarah Geronimo (Other Side of Me Concert) kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZyUeJatprJjbKM . She did a Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston medley with Regine. She was fine with the first few songs but on the 5:15 mark she's already showing signs of stress, struggled through 5:45 doubtful throughout "the greatest love of all (her face showing uneasiness), and then basically gave up starting 7:57 Regine was effortless throughout. For her it was just another day at her job. She killed the duet. She OBLITERATES with sheer divine talent, anyone who attempts to sing with her. Hahaha.

No pun intended but I have yet to see divas like Mariah, Celine, even the late Whitney and other know belters even local ones of her contemporaries like Lea Salonga, Lani Misalucha, belt out these types of songs, outside their comfort zone, and STILL justified as they should be. Regine's vocal dynamics and the range of genre that she can is simply astonishing. As you said cma, you "didn't expect" this". Regine's is not just hitting high notes... it's about lung power...it's about sustaining the notes when needed... and it's about diversity of the songs she can sing

Regine at the Theater concert series last November proved how she can easily shift from genre to genre without losing her vocal Charisma. She's been offered many times to do theater here and abroad but I think she wants more freedom and flexibility to explore her voice. Her vocal journey stood the test of times (extreme usage of voice, busy schedule being the superstar that she is, acid reflux, etc.) but she never cancelled a show. Always Giving in her performances and even getting numerous standing O which is rarely given by Filipino audience. Not even lea salonga can get an overwhelming reaction May it be in big or smaller intimate venue. regine caters both mass and class A audiences because she CAN GIVE WHAT WE DONT USUALLY SEE WITH OTHER VOCAL PERFORMERS...that is to translate technique into a solid vocal performances. She can only exceed herself. Efficient use of voice. Effective, evocative performances.

Regine is not as good as she was in her prime... but I still love her... she is one in a million... up to this day I still can't find a special singer that can equal regine's vocal power... she is a vocal beast... younger female singers can't deny that regine is on top when it comes to singing ability... I can't imagine Philippine music industry without Regine, the diva of all divas, the pop singer of all pop singers. I may sound delusional to some but I'm telling the truth... I don't wonder why she is being compared to younger singers until now... it's because she's the standard...

By the way, I won't argue with your descriptive analysis on the artistry of Regine Velasquez and Lea Salonga that, "They're both masters of the art in their own right. It did not damage her voice. Whenever the acid goes up to her throat it makes her voice crack but that doesn't mean her voice is damaged or what not. If acid is not present, everything will be normal. 😊

I also have a reflux due to mu gastric ulcer. are you aware that gastric acid can burn esophageal lining as well as vocal chords. I think you have to gastrologist.
