I think it would be cool for cards like this that are supposed to scale, like Edwin or Denathrius, there were multiple artworks to denote it being bigger than a 5/5 or a 10/10 etc like don’t the Jade golems do that?

Jade golems do that, I think it’s when the golems are at 4/4, 7/7, and 20/20 that the art changes

The difference is that Edwin scales as a buff, which can be silenced, while each jade golems are different cards in the first place. It's easy to have a different art right from the start, but for Edwin you would need to destroy previous Edwin and put new Edwin after every time he got buffed. Not only it's a strange approach in the first place, it also introduce tons of problems.

Given that it's not silencable, it's like jade golem Also as a programmer, I don't think it would be that hard to add the ability for a card to change it's art conditionally. Especially given that it's 3d the card is repainted every frame so it's just a question of playing an animation and at some point during it swap which art is being displayed.

@@Med1umentor I mean it’s ridiculous that art is so intrinsically linked to cards in the first place. Cards should be able to be programmed to have the art they display change based on certain conditions without it having to be completely replaced with a new card. But spaghetti code.

@@satibel my thought exactly, something like this would be so cool, especially for things that do get silenced getting reverted back to their “small minion” art because of it, or being buffed by something else into a bigger version. Obviously it would be waay too much to do for every card, but stuff that’s supposed to scale makes a lot of sense.

@@dall1786 I think the logic was, because of its wording, using the location immediately wasn't an option. I don't think they accounted for long waits for huge ghosts at the tk.e and thought of it as a mif game tool until they realized it's way more flexible than that.

@@maximedurante7574 Also it was kind of broken with the OG text too. As I understand the old text, the summoned token can't have its stats removed with a silence. If the player summoned a 12/12 token with the old version, it'd still be a 12/12 after a silence was used on it. Now it has a base line stat which means silence effects work on the tokens again for possible tech counters. Even with the slight nerf it's still pretty good for a rare card.

In Wild, there was a combo that was fantastic for clearing board, but was missing a beefy beatstick. Sonya + Wildpaw Gnoll gave you virtually infinite dmg for a board clear as long as you had the APM, you could easily play 15-20 cards in a turn. It also wants fewer minions so you can draw core minions more reliably, and wanted something that didn't require you to spend any more than 1 extra mana the same turn, so this is perfect since you can play it the previous turn and activate it when you use the combo. I can easily see this helping that shell become threatening.

A small part of me wishes they kept the old sinstone graveyard. Sure it’s weaker, but not only did the card text look nicer in my opinion, but the ability to summon something to immediately die feels fun, especially with infuse. I’m a sucker for creative uses, and this seems like a great potential gimmick.

It's not just about that. Stats = to the cards you played means if you play 5 cards it's a base 5/5. Making it so it has +1/+1 for each card means it gets answered by a Silence, for exemple, so it's not this big af early threat which rogue can easily do. Now, weather it keeps the +1/+1 after your turn, I don't know, but I think it won't, since it says "has ... for each you played", could mean it get's buffed and nerfed during the turn

@@DtLS It does if the text is "has" instead of "summon with this stats", as the difference would be in the summon itself (summoned as a 5/5 it's different than as a 1/1 with a +4/+4 bonus)

@@ShiniOokami I'm thinking less about having 2 of them and more about the greater consistency for build arounds. Less board space can mean fewer cards, but then there are preps, coins, draw cards, generate cards, kill stuff cards, etc. I don't think you need super big ghosts for it to feel good either. Two 5/5's for 2 mana, 0 mana the second time sounds like a solid deal, no? And not at all unreasonable to achieve with what rogues already do.

I was clarifying that I wasn't focusing on the daydream of getting both out, I was thinking about them as consistent ways to get mid-sized ghosts on the cheap and sometimes popoff bigtime. You really think it's the only viable one? The shaman one seems easy enough to fit into curves and the mage one generates some value while slowing down the game. Plus the package it's a part of was already promised a buff if it isn't strong enough as far as I know, so it's probably going to get run eventually if not right away. Druid just needs 1 or 2 good enough deathrattles for theirs to pop off. Paladin and priest I'm not so sold on but maybe. Warrior looks like a flop unless they really need that 1 damage synergy. I almost forgot the hunter one which I think says enough. Still intrigued to see the last of the cycle.

@@ShiniOokami It sort of sounds like you think these go on CD even if you don't use them, which they don't. So if you drop the shaman location on 1, then on 2 you can use it, you're not waiting for 3. Maybe that was just a mistype or some such, just clearing it up if that's what you thought. When I say the shaman one fits into curves I mean you could play it on 1 if you have nothing else but you could also play it on 3 when you only have a 2 drop for instance to fill out your curve, giving you some kind of 3drop and future 0mana evolves. The new Vashj has great synergy with it and maybe there's more to come. Maybe not amazing but playable. I'm also not sure why you seemed concerned that your board won't stick between uses of it. I don't see how that's necessary. You just play a battlecry or Vashj and evolve them on the spot.

This set seems so fun to play, and while the rogue is a class that is scary to give the graveyard location to, I kind of miss the days where one can get a crazy opener and get a large Edwin. Curious what class legendary looks like, as it seems that they are closely tied to the location. Looking forward to more reviews :)

I think the play rate of this location will depend on either the survivability of Rogue as a class, the consistency of cheap cards and draw, the effectiveness at untargeted (random or whole board) removal in the meta, or all of the above. It'll probably be a fun combo, but with Renathal out there it might not be enough to win games alone. Even with a hard-to-achieve 10/10 stealth, battlemaster, and 12 damage in maxed out wicked stabs, you only have 36 damage. With the presence of healing and armor, it'll be difficult to count on chip damage for that extra 4. And all the while, your opponent can see your set up since it's a 2-turn combo. Weirdly, I think it'll probably be better as mid-game protection while you draw for some other combo.

Looks like a more flexible questing adventurer in many ways. 1 Mana cheaper although -1/-1, but with it being a location it's also like a 0 Mana Adventurer if you choose to pop off later instead. Sure Questing Adventurer can scale forever, but it's not as flexible. Either way it's cool to see this effect back.

That looks crazy good! Rogue already naturally does a lot of combo stuff so this seems just like additional value for them at a cost of preemptively using 2 mana earlier in the game.

The 4 mana 3/3 might be played a bit with that. on turn 3 you play a coin and 4 1 mana cards and you have a 6/6. The fact that it's basically a 0 mana vancleef is pretty strong. Though the nutty start is on 1 mana starting second with 2 extra coins, you play 3 coins 2 graveyards and have 2 5/5 stealth. (And if you have the other that's no hand but 2 6/6 stealth and a 3/3, so lethal on 3.)

Well, you need to play 6 SI:7 cards to get Scabbs, then need to spend 6 mana on Scabbs and the stealth gizmo. So you're looking at 8 cards played and probably ~18 mana for a 9/7 with Stealth. So I think the location might be cheaper, depending on how much setup it feels like it demands (generating coins and so on).

The difference is that, with the old text if you used it on a turn when you hadn't played any cards yet it would summon a 0/0. Both versions would still have summoned a 1/1 if you played it turn two and then activated it, but the new version is actually slightly stronger.

Pretty sure they changed the wording so you can actually silence it. The new text it’ll be silenced back to a 1/1 the old text means their base stats were that you couldn’t silence the stats so that’s why they changed the text

It's probably gonna break the game simply because of stealth and no silence. Basically you can't trade it away and you can't kill it unless you have a hard board clear or a silence and minions. Stealth is pretty much delayed charge with possibility of buff...

A stealth 8 8 is what it is for free at that on turn 4-5 and let's not forget windfury and how easy it is to deal 14 dmg as rogue... I'm curious about what happens if you bounce a ghost though, is 10mana cap? Could it go higher? Or is it simply 0 mana? Even if it was scaling with stats 100% it's still too strong if it was rush instead of stealth fine, but stealth is just problematic
