I print with only water-based ink at work. We print 2 to 4 color, a good tip for anyone doing longer runs is to mist the ink with water once it's been flooded; so that it doesn't dry up in the screen. Sometimes when the ink is to thick I just add some water to rejuvenate them. Works really well. I wonder if samples you were sent would just need to be hydrated, if they are water-based.
@blueblue66216 жыл бұрын
Also Misting the screen before the ink is down helps.

Was it cause of the fan? Maybe point the fan slightly away from the exit of the dryer?
@standardgraphic56 жыл бұрын
I bet it's the fan. I had the same type of problem, when the wind would blow strong from the north it would actually blowback against my exhaust fan causing Breeze in my dryer tunnel and the temperature would be all over the place. Try tilting that fan away from the tunnel a little at an angle.
@ThePrintLife6 жыл бұрын
trying it now!
@madisonsmith34246 жыл бұрын
Yeah I found that my fan was causing my temp to be all over the place too
@ThePrintLife6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that was not that case, It seems to be the temp controller or a bad relay even though It has a new relay, The fan was causing some temp differences but the dryer needs to be repaired.

Love this style of video mate... it’s good to see pros have issues. It keeps it real! Quick question, I am new to the screen printing game and love the process. I’m using an ink called permaset supercover which allows you to print on opaque colours without the need to lay a white base colour down first. What I’ve noticed is that it drys super quick... any suggestions on what I could add to slow drying time while sitting in the screen?

What is the reason for a post cure for water base inks? Is it because the water in the inks will break down the emulsion when pressing when you press? I seem to be having that issue because im using water based inks and my emulsion is deteriorating.
