I graduated nursing school in 1994, was in a car accident in feb of 2000, and havent worked since,, so now that I'm able to go back to work, I had to retake the nclex to reinstate my license,, I studied on my own with whatever I could find to study and your videos were a tremendous help,, Thanks again!!

Thank you so much. I love your videos. This may sound dumb but how would you know which drug is not to crush? I have Pharmacology textbook by Lilley and I have a Davis Drug Guide book.

You're most welcome :) Many drugs have the drug name and then after the drug name it may have: XL or LA For example, Detrol LA and Toprol XL are both long-acting medications that can't be crushed. So, look at the drug name closely. However, sometimes not all drugs have this and this is when you will have to call pharmacy and confirm it can be crushed or use other available resources to confirm. Overtime, as you gain experience, you will learn quickly which drugs can be crushed vs not. I hope that helps :)
