Registration of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) in India | Get your license from CIB&RC

Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) otherwise called plant hormones are organic compounds which are either synthesized in laboratories or produced naturally within the plants. They are used to regulate the growth of plants and are important measures to ensure #agricultural production. #PGRs need to be registered in India under the Insecticides Act, 1968.
For Example:
[1] #Chlorpropham is a Plant Growth Inhibitor used as an anti sprouting agent for stocked potatoes under cold storage condition.
[2] #Ethephon improves colouration and accelerates uniform ripening of fruits like pineapple, mango, tomato etc.
Anyone who manufactures or imports PGRs must first get a Certificate of Registration from the Central Insecticides Board & Registration Committee (CIB&RC).
There are mainly 3 types of registrations:
Regular Registration u/s 9(3), Provisional Registration u/s 9(3b) & “Me too” Registration u/s 9(4).
