These Regondi studies are beautiful. Thanks for bringing them to our attention.

Amazing etude. The A and B sections are so different but complement each other wonderfully. Great guitar you have there. The melody really shines through. And incredible playing as always. Very much looking forward to more Regondi, David!!

Thanks! As I say it's more substantial than a lot of 19th century studies.

Another excelent rendition! A real pleasure to hear this studies wich i did not know. Another thing I really like is the way your guitar sounds, it sounds so natural and balanced.. is it possible you can tell us how is the recording process¿¿ mic placement, and how you creat the stereo image. Excuse my bad English.
@davidjaggs4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for your feedback. If you watch this short film I talk about equipment and you'll see where the mics are placed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXiQY4yHg5yWobs As for stereo image there are two mics, so two channels. Each mic "hears" something slightly different. In mixing I'll pan one 80% to the left and the other 80% to the right. It makes an enormous difference.

Very nice indeed. Those descending chords in the beginning don't look too terrible but it's so hard to play them with buzzing off the top of the nails even once. Bravo. The beginning reminds me of Jose Merlin's Evocacion" from the Suite de Recuerdo

You have one of the best tones on KZbin in my opinion! I’m sure an attribute of your right hand technique but would you share with me what strings you use?

Hi David. Thanks so much. They are D'addario Pro Arte medium tension. I put a link in the description.

So beautifully played, with perfect tone. And your recordings always sound great. What microphone/software do you use to capture?

Thanks Avi. If you watch this you'll see.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXiQY4yHg5yWobs plus software is cubase. Does the job so well.

I can't find a description of the differences between normal and medium tension strings. Anyone?
@davidjaggs4 жыл бұрын
How do you mean? Normal is medium. There is light..normal/medium..hard and extra hard. They tend to be a bit louder but also a bit harder on the hands. They also take longer to stretch.
@davidjaggs4 жыл бұрын
Hope that helps.
@1LaOriental4 жыл бұрын
DPJFILMS Thanks for the clarification. I recently changed my strings from hard to normal. Thank you.

Brilliant David. Do you play from memory? I can't see you reading score there. At least it doesn't look like it. If so, how do you retain it all 👏
@davidjaggs4 жыл бұрын
I have the score at recordings but generally don't look while playing. When I play takes back to see what I've got I'll use it..or if I blank. It's a safety net. I suppose hours of practice trying to get it clean backs up the memory. Thanks for watching.

@@davidjaggs That's impressive though. That's quite a long piece too. I guess some of the sections are repeated, but even so 👏

Lovely playing. Just noticed something odd, the timestamp on geoff's comment below says a month ago. All the rest look OK 😂
