You mean the withdrawn and psychologically damaged capitalist that uses his wealth as an excuse to commit violence upon citizens dealing with crippling mental health issues and delusions. This is while not only being above the law through his wealth and influence, but also while surrounding himself with young orphans that typically have no where else to turn so are therefore forced to dress in rubber/pvc fetish gear and participate in the violent roleplay. So probably not a great emotional pillar and definitely not someone who I'd let babysit.

I know this is a two year old video and comment but I was just making fun of Dean Cain about something else and this was brought up so I was reading through old comments and no one seems to have said this part about it..... They have a problem with "sexualizing kids in comics through a gay well technically bi kiss" sure everyone pointed out that is crazy for obvious reasons being kisses aren't expressly sexual and straight characters do it all the time to no complaints from them..... BUT no one has seemed to mentioned that they were also okay with actual hetero penetrative sex being at least implied in comics....... I mean Jonathan Kent came from Superman doing the same thing....

To anyone who doesn’t know, in actual Norse mythology Loki once turned into a female horse, had sex with a regular male horse (ie not another god in shapeshifted horse form), got pregnant, and gave birth to an eight-legged horse named Sleipnir who Odin later took as his main horse. I can’t think of any more specific definitions than genderfluid for “presents as male but also sometimes is a female horse”.

the Kpop scene has it's own homophobia problem it really needs to deal with. If you talk positively or even neutrally about gay men or BEING a gay man on twitter, they'll sometimes just swarm the post and act really shitty about it. If you try to tell them "you know this is like homophobic right?" they'll just take that as license to target you as well. I think it's mostly some very confused teenagers thinking they're scoring a point for women or something and they're using the same tactics that rightfully got them praise when aimed at people who are actually being bigoted. Either way, the Kpop scene has some really hard conversations they gotta deal with and the people who are a problem are very keen to avoid any introspection on the matter. The Kpop scene strikes me as particularly prone to self-reinforcing behavior so bad habits can get entrenched real quick.

I don't want to make Dean Cain's idea sound better than it really was, but I would definitely like the idea of a queer superhero just casually flying over to a very anti-queer place on the map where some bigot is about to toss someone off a roof for being gay, and then the hero (anti-hero, at this point) just tosses he bigot off the roof instead. Then the hero could fly the gay person to a safer place and force that country to hurry along the immigration process or something. Maybe that's this hero's whole thing, just finding people of all sorts being directly oppressed, removing the oppressors, then providing the oppressed with real liberty and security.
@rydacted6613
@rydacted6613 2 жыл бұрын
The logical question your hero should ask themselves, having killed their first bigot, is why stop there? After all, all these people are bigots, all of them would throw someone off the roof. And they will again, if you don't act. If you have the power to 'force that country' to change the policy that a democratically elected government (however flawed) implemented, why not do that? When they were new, I liked Iron-Age comics protagonists murdering bad guys. The stories were about delving into the charcoal grey of human nature. If you have the power, why not use it? Ultimately though, I don't like the idea, because the stories are not about hero's, they are about terrorists with super powers.

That would be sick. The issue, to me at least, isn’t with stories about queer superheroes taking on oppression, but the idea that queer stories cannot be about anything but oppression. It’s a defense of the idea that there is more to the queer experience than simply being marginalized.

Great writer who writes crappy when faced with team books gets put on a team book. 3. Otherwise great writer ages up the popular character and makes him incredibly unlikeable and boring. 4. DC gets a new writer who tries to save the character in the most cheap and cynical way possible by confusing the revelation of a character’s sexuality with good characterization, plotting, and dialogue.
