If you looked at every shot he ever took in similar circumstances, there’s probably a 20% success rate (and that’s being generous) in those kind of shots when he takes them. Meaning that shot was like taking a bet, where you roll a 5 sided die, and if it lands on any number but 5 you lose. That’s a BAD bet. You have 4 chances to lose, for every chance you have to win. If it does land on 5 that’s a good OUTCOME, on a BAD bet. The shot was bad, the outcome is a different story on its own. They’re two separate things. Here's my take on the Clippers era with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George: Did it make sense getting Kawhi Leonard, despite the injury history, at the time? Yes. Did it make sense to trade for Paul George when he was coming off his best season? Yes. Did they trade too much in the trade package for Paul George? Yes. Did they need to get both players at the same time with what they've given up? NO. If they had done one or the other, they would have probably had a longer shelf life of contention and more depth. This was the most successful era in franchise history, which is sad, but I think it's time that they pull the plug to rebuild or they're going to get forced into a rebuild in a few years.

I disagree with it made sense trading for Kawhi, if you paid attention to Kawhi that year, he could barely play he was hobbling up and down the court for most of that season including the finals. I'm glad that Kawhi jerked the Lakers around and went to the clippers instead, as a Lakers fan. Otherwise we wouldn't have won the championship that year.

The fact that I love about the Paul George trades is that the Thunder traded him for SGA and a ton of first round picks, got him from Indiana for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis, who they got by trading Serge Ibaka to the Magic, who then traded Serge Ibaka in the same season for Terrance Ross. So basically Terrance Ross is worth SGA and a ton of first round picks.

Because Kawhi it sounds like would never go to play with LBJ. Clippers then either have Kawhi, SGA, a decent roster, and 1 super max contract available for later. Or he can go play somewhere else.
