I got completely lost at the part with the long nose pliers. Couldn't see how they were used in the grooves of those barings.

If you don't have the long nose pliers, you can grab a flat screwdriver, put the tip on one of the grooves at an angle and hit the screwdriver with a hammer and it should work. (Just remember it's reverse threaded). Try to tap a couple of times on one groove then move to the other one in order to avoid damage by hitting just one of them. Hope that helps!

@@RicardoGomez-mq5fb Thanks, I got lost on this part also, but your comment cleared it up. Appreciate it!

excellent video because if you want to buy a balance bike they only come in small sizes for a smaller 2-4 year old child and no good for a big sized 4/5 year old! so converting a bike is genius

You zip by the part you remove with the needle nose pliers, just before the bearings. I'm working on a very similar bike but this part doesn't want to come out easily. How did you do it?
@FamilyHomeTheater5 жыл бұрын
If you mean the bit at about 5:55, you just have to use the needle nose pliers to engage those two grooves. It may be reverse threaded, so try to remove it in a clockwise direction. If the bike is older, it may be frozen on there. Perhaps soak it with WD-40 and come back after 30 minutes.

I know it's an older post but might as well share my idea. Lots of work. I just let my kids use the training wheels for one week. Then took them off, sink or swim. All my kids could swim. I really miss your videos on Home Theater for the Masses. When are you going to continue them?

I have the next video scripted out. It will be on acoustic treatments. But December is going to be very busy, so I probably won't get to it until January. You may see a few other non-theater videos before then.

Family White TV That is what I am getting ready to make. Will it be a DYI or just a informative type video? I probably won’t make them until January. I want to get a Kreg jig for pocket holes for the framing.
@FamilyHomeTheater6 жыл бұрын
@@jr62inhometheater98 More of just an informative type video. Why they are needed, and some materials that can be used. Either mineral wool panels or rigid fiberglass of the Owens Corning 703 variety. And some very basic info about placement - entire front wall, and periodically along the sides. I'll mention ETC curves, but it won't be a video about how to use ETC to determine perfect placement. It will be a basic video about how to reduce echo and therefore noise by using some DIY treatments, and how it is the most cost effective way to get a large increase in sound quality vs buying new speakers, amplifiers, etc.

Family White TV Okay. Will look forward to that bell to toll.

Hmm OK. I can replicate that on an adult-sized bike and convert it into a balance bike for in-town 'walking'. Thank you!

Thank you so much. Was going to buy a strider bike almost $200 price tag. I'll just buy a used bike and do this. Thanks.

How did you film this I'm just asking did you use a GoPro or a regular camera cuz I just started making videos on KZbin and thank you you did a good job on the video
@FamilyHomeTheater5 жыл бұрын
I have a DSLR (Nikon D5300) that I used to film this, although I have also used a smartphone. I also have a couple lights: www.amazon.com/Neewer-Professional-Photography-Centimeters-Lighting/dp/B017D7W57S/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=neewer+lights&qid=1579751783&sr=8-9 A decent microphone is also helpful. Once you have good lighting and sound, you will need something to edit with. I started with Windows Movie Maker, but now use Adobe Premiere Pro. If you are a student with a .edu E-mail address, you can get the entire Adobe suite for $30 per month. If you want to get serious into KZbin, you will likely want to use Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Audition at the very least.

hi, isn't it enough to take the pedals off for converting to a balance bike?
@FamilyHomeTheater5 жыл бұрын
You can try it, but they may still get in the way.

Just use a proper chain breaker tool . Can then reuse chain
