Hey... I'm an organic farmer here in Japan (Sendai) and I have a 2015 Honda Acty truck, 2017 Honda Shuttle, and a 2006 Honda Hobio (my favorite). Obviously the Hobio and Acty are kei (it's pronounced "kay", by the way). Get a ticket and come drive my shit. You can review my tractors, too. Hell, I even have a field by the Sugo circuit and you can take the cars there and pretend they're race cars.

"This is how they Japan in Japan!" LOL! Also, "To Japan" means "To apply a hardened, asphalt-based, durable lacquer-type finish". Often seen on tools made in years gone by, it was developed as a substitute for authentic Japanese lacquering techniques, so in Japan they actually DO Japan differently!

I kind of wished there had been a US domestic version of this. Probably be impossible to make a van like this now because of all the safety requirements.

Actually one of the cars that we drive on the daily where I work. Granted, I live in Japan, but still. Sports cars that do 50 klicks. God, I love these things.

Too bad the Japanese safety standards on this thing is practically nonexistent. Less safe than a 90's Miata. The thing's basically a cardboard box. I wouldn't be driving this thing more than 25 mph since you're bound to lose your legs /w that lack of crush zone. No side impact protection either. Edit -fixed typos
@SquallyZ069 жыл бұрын
+s50201 I would love one of these if I had some land and needed to haul stuff around said land. Otherwise I'd keep it off the road. I've seen them fold like a pancake in accidents when I was living in Japan. Speed limits are slow over there so I couldn't imagine getting into an accident at US speeds with large vehicles. Death trap on wheels!

The Acty’s radiator is located in the front of the vehicle behind the bumper. The large downward facing “radiator” in the middle of the vehicle is actually the condenser for the air-conditioning.

A friend of mine has two of these, one van and one pickup. I got to drive the pickup version around for a few days during a visit and was surprised at how peppy the vehicle felt. Sure, 37 horsepower isn't much, but the 0-20mph acceleration was pretty decent if I floored it, and I didn't have any trouble keeping up with other cars on regular city streets. I'd imagine the van is a bit heavier and more sluggish for sure. Either way, the driving experience was incredibly fun and has me really tempted to get my own someday.

Dude, you have the same ringtone that I do! I thought someone was calling me. By the way, I have a friend who had one of these little vans. It was a Daewoo, which is a rebadged Daihatsu, which at the same time shares most of the components in this van as well. I drove this thing a couple of times and it's fun as hell. Very reliable little vans as well. My friend had it since 1998, brand new. Lasted about 12 years with minimum maintenance. Almost tipped over quite a dozen of times though :D

Dat Daihatsu Mini-Truk. Mmmmmm.. I don't know what it's like in the rest of the country, but around where I'm at in the back-asswards rural everything that is the corners where Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana meet the place is Lousy with grey-import Daihatsu Mini-trucks Exactly. Like. That one. Why? Because Jeeps and Tacomas have gotten too big and too expensive to go bouncing across the pasture doing farm-work during the week and then go bouncing through the woods Huntin' during the weekend, and side-by-side ATVs and UTVs are too Not-Road-Legal to replace them.

It's pronounced like the letter K. Not key. I drove a daihatsu atrai for about three years that is the same thing. It had a 550cc triple engine with intercooler and turbocharger, and 4WD. It was a great little car. My neighbor has a suzuki jimny that looks like a jeep, and it has a 550cc two stroke triple engine. It even sounds like an old suzuki water buffalo.
@AdventureCayman9 жыл бұрын
This is great. We have a good number of those mini-trucks in Cayman. They work great on a small island where fuel is expensive. The AC actually works really well considering the engine is only 550cc and I don't think I ever drove it without the AC on full. People ask what is the 0-60 time, I just laugh and say it hasn't made it to 60 yet.
