i could probably beat you both with my 20 year old, carburated, beat-up, 600cc motorbike. That doesn't mean anything. It wouldn't even be enjoyable for me. Once the 430 came out, these started to depreciate to a point where a lot of people can afford them. The buy-in isn't that outrageous (I've seen them for under $75,000). The biggest issue beyond the purchase price is the cost of maintenance.

As mentioned in the video, Ferraris descend from a long line of racing cars. Racing cars, especially endurance-type cars, which Ferrari is known for, are generally designed to have larger tanks to maximize length between pit stops. If I recall correctly, at one point you could buy a 50 or 60-gallon tank in your Corvette from the factory. Short answer: Because race car.

How does this belong on "regular car" reviews? To me, the most impressive thing about the 360 is that it weighs under 3,000 lbs. That's really light for a 400+ hp car. However, a 2011 Mustang GT weighing over 3600 lbs is just as quick through the 1/4 mile, despite being rated at just 12 hp more. I guess those SAE rating standards really did tighten up around 2007.

hartsickdisciple On paper, you're right, power to weight gives you the capacity for good 1/4 times. There's way more factors than that though, including gearing, weight distribution and transfer, as well as traction. Being said, the Mustang probably puts down the superior 60ft time, while the Ferrari has the higher trap speed, meaning the mustang gets the hole shot with the Ferrari climbing back in the back end. On an interesting side note, the SAE rating for the 360 Modena is ~394BHP, so yes, SAE did actually revise those numbers.

Dunno. To me Ferrari lost its way after the F40 and hasn't really built a car worthy of the nameplate since. It's like how BMW use to make driver's cars, but now makes SUVs with an occasional performance vehicle to keep up its credibility. It's gone from M actually meaning something to just a prestige marker for people who never take their cars past 80 anyway. Maybe it's just all the other manufacturers got better, so Ferrari has a harder time justifying 6 figures worth of car I'd rather have a NSX (seriously), and if I saw you in one, I'd ask about you and the car.

In my honest opinion, that is bullshit. The f50 and the enzo are both more than worthy of the name Ferrari. They just also need cars that are interesting options (budget-wise) for people who are not able to buy the previously mentioned cars. A company with the infrastructure like Ferrari cannot get away with just having top of the line cars anymore. There is a market for budget-ferrari's, so why not give those people these cars. And if I'm not mistaken, when the F40 was around and even before that, they made a budget Ferrari along side the top models.

That Nathaniel Hawthorne impression was PERFECT. Back in HS, one of my summers was ruined by having to read The Scarlett Letter. I HATED that ****ing book; it might as well have been written in another language it was so hard to understand. And underneath that fancy, elequent, and aristocratic writing style that made it damn near impossible to decipher was an extremely predictable, bog-standard, and rather boring plot which only constituted about 25% of the book. The other 75% was useless detail and description that defined EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN NOOK AND CRANNY OF THE SETTINGS AND SCENERY, PLOT RELEVENCY BE DAMMNED. Seriously, this book could have been abridged to 1/4 of its the length and not have a single relevant plot point or detail be lost. I'll admit that the plot was pretty original by 1850s standards, but it has NOT aged well AT ALL. I don't get how people who think this book still stacks up in this day and age. It doesn't. It's a relic from its time, and it needs to stay that way. Thanks to this book and serveral other "classic" novels I was forced to read (Great expectations, Withering heights), I generally don't like reading novels. Books like the Scarlett Letter are partly why kids these days would rather play video games and watch videos all day instead of reading books. Reading books should be FUN, not hard work and borderline torture.
