Oh it’s very real, but the SOHC J-Series V6 VTEC was unfortunately never put in a more relatively lightweight compact car like the Civic/Integra/Prelude and switched to DOHC. It just genuinely is a tad too slow to react, much like a 90’s big single turbocharged lag car. By the time you get the power that you wanted to safely evade traffic, you’ve already shat your pants because although you didn’t get hit in an accident, within the duration you spent in slow motion time dilation waiting for the car's wheels to react to your foot, your heart has already finished its last prayer. I have enjoyed this series for a while now. I also have an opinion to share as far as what I have enjoyed recently, and have not in these past few episodes. The number of wordy tangents per episode has increased to a point where I feel like I learn a very small amount about the car being reviewed. This also causes me to enjoy the tangents less and less. By tangents, I mean by when the focus shifts, it is"diverging from an original purpose or course" (Merriam Webster) which I feel is to review the car. I am also looking for a car right now, and would have enjoyed to learn a bit more about the car from this installment. I love what you guys are creating here on KZbin. Thanks for reading.

Well you obviously were too impacted by the excessive tangents to see the overall message here. Which if you are looking for a Pilot is...DON'T BUY A PILOT. It's just another weekend warrior box that's acceptable at many things but exceptional at none. That V6 doesn't have the real grunt to play with the serious players of the pickup/SUV market. Locking diffs, an automatic, and an as near as makes no difference curb weight of forty-five hundred pounds means you aren't getting a Civic Si with ground clearance and four wheel drive. It's no looker, and while Honda reliability is nice and I personally think their cars are better than Toyota's; a good used 4Runner or Land Cruiser would crush this thing in virtually every way. It's like the automotive equivalent of plain white rice. It's easy and dependable and it'll fill you up but no one is going to mistake you for a foodie and there's no real experience to be had there...

My long time friend has one of these and sings it’s praises. I’ve always liked them, just never been able to bring myself to buy a Honda for whatever reason.

I will say, they're one of the best winter beaters you can buy 9 years later. They have insane traction with a rear locker, fat wheels from the factory for chunky snow tires, and are all around one of the most reliable cars you can buy.

BiffBallbag No an MDX is an luxury version of the Honda pilot.

dragkid185 MDX was released first
@dragkid18510 жыл бұрын
BiffBallbag Well it's not a re-badged mdx because it looks nothing like it. Funny enough the pilot is based on the mdx platform and the mdx platform is based off of honda/acura's mid-size car platform.

You should try to get a Ford Explorer sport trac and see how many jokes you can crack about it being a try hard truck but doesn't achieve that status lol. My friend just sold his not too long ago, bought a 350z. But it was just a funny truck.
