It's nice to see Introcar providing this level of knowledge to it's owners. I would love to see how you change the oil on one of these 1990-1997 Bentley Turbo R.

They are such beautiful cars !!! ... i long to own one or a very last Jaguar XJ12 ... (Daimler) !!! ... I confess to having no interest in new cars at all ... (as maybe the cheapest is the best) ?? ... The little problem is... the "understanding" of the cars just "drift" back into the decades and help becomes difficult !!! ... I have a 2003 Citroen C5 diesel auto that has a bust alternator and the car has jumped into "safe mode" and a solenoid is clamping the gear lever from engaging reverse !!! . ( "google" produces nothing but i'm loathed to have to scrap the car ... even though it was just £600 with a long MOT ) ... ... But your car is absolutely outstanding !!! ... THANKS FOR READING :-)

Very helpful, would you say as a specialist that a Bentley Turbo r is relatively reliable and straight forwards to maintain?
@introcar Жыл бұрын
I would say that a Turbo R, if well maintained can be a very reliable car. That does mean that you should be prepared to spend around £2000 per year on maintenance. Obviously that is just approximation and you could be lucky and not have to spend so much but then you could also be unlucky and have to spend more...

Great job. I own a 1997 turbo r I use LMH. The factis as soon as I put the contact, the low brake pressure appears. I even replenished the lmh reservoir but still have the same alert. Would you please lead me toward a possible diagnosis before I changes the sphere and ovehauled the hydraulic system. Please keep ding the great job you've been doing since. Hurray, hurray

Dear Sir, If the low-pressure light is coming on as soon as you press the brake pedal, it is likely that the pressure in the accumulators is very low. I recommend that you change the brake accumulators. The part number is CD6000GMF-X. There are 2 and it is probably worth changing both.

Is there a kill switch for the fuel line? I was told the reason mine is shutting off could be a kill switch for safety feature.
@introcar3 жыл бұрын
Hi, On later models there is an inertia switch which will cut the fuel pumps. sometimes it can get triggered accidentally and you need to press it to reset it. It is located is near the back of the engine bay just inside the off side wing. It has a round button about 1inch diameter. If you press it and it clicks it is likely that it had been triggered.

I'm looking to buy one of these vehicles.what should I look for in terms of mechanical and electrical condition of this vehicle
@introcar2 жыл бұрын
It’s a good idea to check the service history of the car. The more history you have the better. Things to have checked would be the following. But I cannot list everything and I may have missed some obvious ones. Hydraulic system - Check for leaks pressure warning lights that stay on height control working properly brakes feel good without noise noisy brake pumps Suspension and steering Check the feel of the steering rack and check for leaks Any knocking noises from the suspension when you go over bumps in the road, ball joints and suspension arm bushes No active ride warning lights on the dashboard Rear suspension not too stiff (this happens when the gas springs fail) Engine does the engine run smoothly? Smoke from the exhaust? any strange noises Does it start well? Is there any smell of fuel? Does the engine maintain a good temperature? Check the side of the engine block to see if there are any leaks form the liner holes Electrical Check operation of seats, windows, mirrors, wipers. Check for any warning lights on the dashboard when starting and when driving

What if the owner says he doesn't mine if you brought a mechanic to inspect the car but he won't let it go to a bentley dealership for a pre purchase inspection

Nice video, thanks! I have some smoke coming up from driver side of the engine of my 97 Turbo R. Would that be a valve cover gasket leak? It has only 47k miles but just started smoking a little.

Also I have brake pressure light and alarm occured light on every single time I start the car, then both of them disappear. It is not normal right?
@introcar Жыл бұрын
It is common for the valve covers to leak on these cars so that is the most likely cause. There is quite a lot to take off, in order to tighten up the rocker covers. It might be worth considering upgrading to the rubber rocker cover gaskets UV11305SET-X. www.introcar.com/rocker-cover-gasket-conversion-set-uv11305set

@@berkaytaciako8579 It is normal for the pressure light to come on if the car has not been used for a while. It is worth checking condition of the brake accumulators to ensure they have maintained the correct pressure. Here is a video on how to test the system pressure kzbin.info/www/bejne/jl7CZ4mJZruFr8k The alarm occurred light should clear when the alarm is reset.

where is the brake fluid?
@introcar3 жыл бұрын
Hi, the first thing that he points at, refer as 'Hydraulic reservoir' is where you put your brake fluid. Being a Turbo R you are meant to use Minearl Oil. So please check your chassis, a specialist or the warning signs by the reservoir to amke sure you are purong the right fluid in. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoqpeIablN5qabc
