Kenshin1998 Himura the storyline is actually based on a overdose. Benson and Mordecai were 2 store clerks, and on Halloween, Mordecai and Benson both ate laced candy. in the original Regular Show clip that J. Quintel had created in 2009, they are met with a police man (Anti Pops) sees them and breaks the universal concept within the show, thus why him and Pops hate each other. Everytime Pops says "Jolly good show!", the universe resets (Pops and Anti-Pops fight) and resets the series, so Mordecai and Benson die while pops is actually trying to save them. Rigby is the doctor that originally saves Mordecai and Benson, but it broke a part of Mordecai where reality will always be warped, and so it is a normal universe resulting in the name "Regular Show". Connecting this lapse to this Frederator episode, Regular Show will eventually either have a reboot or a whole new show will be based on it but changing because of the universal resets

I think the reason why Pops is child like because it's Mordecai and Rigby's fault. In the Episode "Prank Callers" Mordecai and Rigby traveled back in the 80's after pranking the Master Prank Caller and the two asked young Pops what year is it. young Pops can be seen speaking normal and not child like, but at the part when Mordecai, Rigby, Skips, Pops, and Benson are being chased by Master Prank Caller they accidentally ran over young Pops making him to fall over and hit his head hard then it shows Young Pops laughed like the Present Pops does. Mordecai and Rigby attended this kids first birthday party, along with the rest of the park crew. This was disproven by the last few episodes of the last season, Blu-Ray recorded every 'episode' so that they could remember if the timeline got reset, in which Rigby explains the chaos him and Mordecai would bring but not getting fired when the universe wasn't fully reset. Plus, If Mr. Maelard had a space station beneath the park, and a ship bridge in Pops' bedroom, I think he has the sources to rebuild the park when it was destroyed. Also, it appears that the space program has been going on for a while, Which Maelard has been a funder for. Of what didn't make sense to me, was why no bits of the station appeared when the KGB grabbed it, I think they've planned the space thing for a while.

I think that the timelines all split up from one different timeline that decides which timeline path they go on. Like the rockstars thing. That was a different time line which was erased from the main timeline that we watch. If you look at the memories from the Blu-ray box set of their lives you see that most of everything in the show is shown in them while it’s recording. There are many different timelines as we see in that 5th dimension mall which means that there is one main timeline which decides everything. Ok, so if Pops has free will, that can be used to explain how the rest of the heroes aren't present in some of the battles. They don't have free will, but because Pops does, he is not going to live the same moment in each timeline exactly the same, this implies that every action Pops makes in the show, in turn has an effect on the outcome of that timeline.

Definitely to this theory. It also makes ONE side-character the more sensical:Timmy. In "The Heart of a Stuntman", Timmy apparently had themed birthdays EVERY year of his life at The Park, despite Mordecai and Rigby never aging. This would mean that at least 10 separate timelines exist where Timothy had a birthday at The Park, while everyone else stayed their same age. Its also been shown that despite the timeline being reset, it IS possible for non-omniscient characters such as Mordecai and Rigby to remember the previous timeline, and therefore their memories of his birthday were actually across multiple timelines, most likely remembered due to a minor glitch in space-time similar to when Mordecai and Rigby accidentally went back in time during the final Titan battle. ALSO-while they might have EXPERIENCED 8 years, its most likely that temporally they only experienced like five at maximum, but kept their memories of past adventures in previous timelines, or they merely happened again on different dates. I was honestly kinda confused and I thought about the ending of the show after I saw the finale. There was this one episode, I forgot the name of it, where Mordecai and Rigby play basketball against Muscle Man and HFG to use the computer, which Mordecai needs to make a site for Margaret. Then the King Of Basketball shows up and ends up taking HFG’s spot after he’s “injured”. As the show is about to end, they somehow fly to space, and the episode ends with Mordecai and Rigby winning, but Margaret telling Mordecai that 6 months had passed and Eileen helped with the website she needed, meaning the game and training was all for nothing. The King Of Basketball says that “Time flies when you’re in space”. If that’s the case, wouldn’t it mean that in the end when Mordecai, Rigby, and the rest of the crew return back to Earth, everyone should’ve been old???

This makes sense kind of, and there is proof in the last 5 minutes of the series to support this. When pops comes out of the black whole he went thru the letters "R E G U L A R S H O W" breaking a few of them, thus meaning that he broke the loop and thats why he was hit with the sticky notes, not because the fabric of reality was revealing its self but because a new one was written. The sticky notes are the new timeline being created and thats why pops decides to do what he does. Regular show wasn't about mordecai and Rigby nor the park it was about time lines repeating itself, repeating and repeating until it turns into a "regular show" every so billions of years. So what made this time line different than the other ones if their all so alike the fact that Pops broke the "REGULAR SHOW" sign. at that moment loop was broken, not when Pops jumped inside the supernova

I was personally running off the same basic theory back in season 1 or 2. It's the standard cartoon logic ~ crap happens, and we generally just 'reset' each episode. Best explanation is almost always just multiple dimensions/timelines. But since they had 'time babies' and Skip and all that, there was clearly 'timey wimey' junk going on in this series.

You seem to forget one major point about your theory. The blue ray discs that Mordecai and Rigby dig up in the final episode. That disk set seems to imply that regular show occurs on one timeline as it has all the memories from the show's eight seasons. You even see things from all eight seasons when they're burning their memories into the discs. That one episode simply destroys your theory. I can't believe you missed that big of a plot point as it was pretty close to the finale.

It seems like their act of driving into the fists of Pops and Anti-Pops may have kinda screwed up the reset a little. It would also explain why they were able to regain their memories despite being "reset". It's possible that this has also happened repeatedly in different timelines only to be solved later by a proper reset.

Teen Gamer Boss maybe mordacai and rigby are the same and jump through timelines every time the show ends and trie to get a different ending and they take all their momentos but they might have lost their memory from jumping through timeline maybe thats why they mess up on every episode and dont know what to do next and on the last episode mordacai and Rigby might have been somewhere else or a different park. its just a theary so dont hate

I think it's more like when the universe kept looping over and over as we knew before there needed to be a balance cause before there was no balance to aline the timeline, or straightin it out cause I'm guessing pops never pushed his brother into the sun, it was always violence with the both of them to rest itself, now that pops found true inner piece with himself it balanced it out purely and that's the reason it reset but with the memory of pops dead and them remembering everything that happened, so in conclusion, no more loops, resets, changes, or alternet timelines to exist

Mordecai and rugby do have free will because in the season 8 finale they chose to interrupt pop and anti pops fighting. This allowed the universe to not go on a stalemate.

I JUST REALISED SOMETHING. What if every season is a new timeline? That would explain the “error” where in Bad Kiss, Mordecai and Rigby destroy both time machines, but they still have the original in the next episode. I mean I guess it could be because the other Rigby had his time machine but I really want to think it’s the first point 😂

I think you bring up a good point, a philosophical point, that has grounds for debate. With every other character, besides pops and anti-pops, not being confined to the "battle" itself. I would argue that our characters DID have free will, as their experiences in each universe, shaped them, ultimately deciding whether or not they appeared at the battle. For an argument against this, even chaos theory is slowly being refuted, because, apparently, we can even see patterns in chaos. So maybe, all of these events ARE pre-determined. But. That would be a LOT harder to prove. And if you think about it, most continuity makes sense, Mordecai's love interests, and the memorobilia from past episodes in Mordecai's car also shows continuity.
