Squidward - not humble, arrogant, and thinking he's too good for this, perceives himself as above everyone. If he wasn't so vain, he could make the most of his circumstances. Benson - once a famous drummer, now a park manager. Even though it's not what he wanted, he's content and makes the most out of it. That's the reason why he's so hard on Mordo and Rigby; his identity is tied to his job. Additionally, he sees them as a younger version of himself

Yeah of course it’s Benson that’s how it works around here; I don’t do my work and he doesn’t do a thing about it; it’s a win win.” He does and says this in that episode and he has the gall, he has the nerve, he has the audacity to ask Benson why he hates him so much 3 episodes ago? I have been hating Rigby and Mordecai since I was 15 because they are no different from the disobedient teenagers who give my teachers a hard time. Benson had no one else at the park to relate to besides Mordecai and Rigby. Benson wanted to do big things with his life, but kept failing and ended up at a dead-end job. His staff is Skips, who is immortal, likely very rich, and is probably only working to keep himself from not getting bored, Pops, who works at the park because he’s the owner’s son, and Muscle Man and Hi Five Ghost, who never wanted to do much more than simply have a paying job. Mordecai and Rigby wanted to go to college together and do big things, and ultimately they blew that, and Benson can relate. Benson sees it and wants to help them be better, he could have fired them 7 times throughout the series but he didn’t. Shows a lot about Benson.

I was already an adukt when my youngest brother put me on to Regular Show, and I became a fan immediately. Benson is COMPLETELY relatable. A lot of people believe that managers are the worst. Those who believe that more often than not are a reflection of both Mordecai and Rigby. Either they're perennial slackers who ultimately wind up getting fired, or they don't like anyone in a position of authority above them (which makes absolutely no sense because why the heck are you here if you hate having a boss?). Having worked at the same spot for almost 20 years (summer unemployment for the win), I've seen almost every type of employee you can think of. There's a couple of Mordecai and Rigby types still at my job to this day, which is why I appreciated Benson from the very beginning.

At first, I didn’t really like Benson because he remind me a little bit too much of adults yelling at me when I was growing up. Later on I grown to appreciate the guy just like with Rigby the guy really grow on me and had the best developments I’ve seen in cartoons It’s rare for me to see a cartoon character, actually gain character development and becoming a genuinely interesting character. One of my favorite episode is the worlds best boss coffee cup we’re all of the park employees try to get a cup that says the world‘s best boss for the guy for his anniversary really showing how everyone has and how far Benson has come from being a guy who would just yell at Mordecai and Rigby to genuine person.

So the second ever episode of Regular Show I ever saw as a kid was the Eggselent episode. Oddly enough, it was that episode in which Benson became my favourite character. Yeah he was totally out of line with what he said about Rigby when Rigby was unconscious barely a foot away from him, but it's what he did following that comment that cemented him as my favourite. He didn't fire Mordecai after getting punched by him which a horrible boss definitely would've done (I remember being shocked at this). He later approached Mordecai to apologise, went out of his way to discover a method for Mordecai to finish the challenge by finding the journal, and then COACHED Mordecai to win the hat for Rigby! Now that is a cool ass boss and a good friend.

Regular show is about life in your twenties. I feel like the characters are in that stage where you’re just working and trying to get by, you don’t make a lot of money so you have to budget in order to get stuff you like or do activities you like. I’m 26 and I stopped going to school when I was 22 and just worked a lot for a few years and took that time to figure out what I wanted to do. I eventually went back to school and I’m about to get my associates degree now. So I guess don’t worry about feeling lost or like a failure because your mindset is gonna change the older you get and with that comes other changes. ✌️

I want benson as a boss
@vullord6663 ай бұрын
6:23 This is so sad when you recap it like this 😂. Mordecai and Rigby should really be thanking the gods Skips hangs out with daily for having Benson as a boss.

As adults we view stuff differently like squidword from spongebob and tom and jery we used to root for the ones that make us laugh but now we feel the chill characters

Benson deserved an oscar bro

Benson isn't a bad guy, or heck- even a bad boss. He just simply has standards and expectations, and I think deep down he really does enjoy Mordo and Rigby's presence at the park. If he didn't, they would've been let go a whiles ago (For real.)

I remember watching the episode where Benson yells at Mordecai and Rigby about the dealership with my family for the first time and the whole room went quiet. Our parents, my cousins, me and my sister, that performance was just raw as hell.

Even as a kid I could never bring myself to hate Benson (except for the burger episode). The poor guy had to put up with a lot of nonsense and I can’t blame him for being angry. I’m glad he got the appreciation he deserves.

Growing up, I was always really neutral about Benson. But later seasons added a lot personality and background to what was Benson's almost one dimensional character. Moments like finding out Benson was in a band, seeing his awesome drumming skills, his history with fuseball, and the his somewhat tense relationship with his own boss Mr Mallard, I feel added tons of layers to Benson as an individual and made me want to see more of him. It made him feel way more human. Seeing Benson as a person and not just the boss gave him a level of down-to-earthness that I can't compare to anyone off the top of my head

As someone who’s 24 now and work’s management in retail. I LOVE benson. I realize now he’s just like me fr. I just want to see my guys succeed, even if that’s finding better Opportunities elsewhere, and I do my best not to yell at anyone but damn some of these 16 yr olds are just not trying and not caring and that’s what really gets me.

He's the boss absolutely everyone wants to have by their side when they're having a tough job grinding their way through life. The more I realize and experience how many people treat people materialistically, intentionally or unintentionally, and the more I realize how easily others turn away when I make stupid mistakes in relationships, the more I realize that people like Benson are better than anyone else. He makes you look like a person not a "person to avoid".

I'm pretty surprised that so many here disliked Benson as a kid. I was already an adolescent when Regular Show was airing, so I had no problem with the character.

I liked him before because his screaming was funny Now I like him because he's a Man (Gumball Machine) unlike any other

After getting into management, I not only respect Benson, I love and relate to him now vs. me prior to it being more fond of Rigby.

Ngl I always understood bensons perspective and tbh I’d just hate Mordecai and Rigby for keep testing him. The episode where they worked with muscle man I realized how chill he was I am so disappointed with them.
