I came to love this show in my mid-20’s: those odyssey years after college wherein those of us who didn’t have it as figured out as our peers ended up back home working shitty jobs and stewing in self-hatred. Back then, it reminded me fondly of the dynamic I shared with my small group of fellow misfits and offbeat sorts, and it was one of those rare shows that made me feel genuinely understood. Now as a man in my mid-30’s, working as a public school history teacher, I can return to this show and have it evoke the same fondness, and that’s something very special.

This stuff makes me feel like I’m wasting my life. It makes me feel... sort of sad in a way. All the things that are and were in my life are going to end someday, and I can do nothing to stop it. And regular show was very important to me when I was little, and now that it ended with many other childhood shows (I.e. Regular Show, Gumball, and oddly FBaCC) are going to be lost one day. Tapes will disintegrate, DVDs will rot, but memories will stay. But even memories can be forgotten and lost in time. Live your life to the fullest. Be who you want to be. I’m just a commenter, and you’ll probably scroll by me anyway. Wherever you are in the world, I want you to know: You live once. You can’t reincarnate and be a completely different person, and that’s just the way it goes. Whether you’re a Christian or a Buddhist, life still doesn’t repeat itself. Some will live in luxury, and some will burn for eternity. That’s just how life is gonna be. Thank you for letting me babble, it means a lot to me.

I think there’s more to the bowling episode than we think. Skips didn’t leave because Death threatened to reveal his real name. He left because he was afraid of his friends being curious about his past and the pain he went through. His old name reminded him of his life before he became immortal, it reminded him of Mona and how he lost her. He was afraid of revealing to his friends that’s he’s immortal and that he will outlive everyone he knows and loves including them. While many people think immortality is awesome, it’s really tragic. That’s why I’m my opinion Skips is the most tragic character in Regular Show.

Pop's death was heartbreaking, but Mordecai's depression and montage of his friends motivating a recovery hit a nerve deeper than any cartoon I can remember watching around that time. Something particularly with the brief moment MuscleMan and Hi-5 are joking to make him laugh, and his unkempt, simple shake of the head at their antics. I've felt that. I could empathise the exact emotions being portrayed in that brief scene. Absolutely incredible.

Honestly the only time I cried was when Benson left space in that Earth simulation and ended up having to live a terrible life up until he played that VHS tape during the Earth invasion

3:05 I wish more kids shows had dialogue like this. This feels very real coming from a show with talking birds, raccoons, and gum-ball machines

I felt really bad for benson even when i was a kid and it still breaks my heart to see how he has been treated like crap. Still i am happy he has gotten better and that the team is still with him and that they are helping each other in need

So sad that the series ending without Mordecai being with CJ or even margret
@noahwhang3 жыл бұрын
that’s what makes it realistic
@ethanparker7900 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately his relationship with CJ was damaged beyond repair given what justified their split up and they never spoke to each other again as a result but I agree that there was still a connection between him and Margaret given how involved they still were in each others lives and how they've known each other longer

@fallshown70703 жыл бұрын
This was the only time a show made me cry, the show may seem special, has driving plot, characters, development, and action. And it makes it seem like one of a kind. In the end, it was all just a Regular Show. It was Truly, a Jolly good show.

I think the saddest part was that Benson told Mordaci the best advice in the entire series just for Mordaci to thank Skips.
