That is to say... Mordecai and Rigby didn't do a whole week of work and when they are given a chance to redeem themselves they just want to get away. I like Mordecai and Rigby but here I am with Benson, any other boss would have fired them on the first or second day and if they were out, I wouldn't have given them the chance to finish what they left undone. Benson was very kind to them because it's not like we were talking about him giving another chance to people who are just as competent as Skips or Muscleman... he gave them to 2 lazy people who barely finish simple tasks.

There is no explanation to the show’s weirdness. It just fucking happens, and it’s GLORIOUS. It’s not like Gravity Falls or Courage the Cowardly Dog where there’s lore reasoning as to why time traveling rockstars shoot lasers, Benson can scream out a Kamehameha, Death's loogies revive the deceased, hot dogs are sentient, and refusing a solid can cause earthquakes.

I kinda agree with Ruff @4:13. WHY is it that in every cartoon that has the whole "Fake Lottery" story they always goes crazy talking about how much money they'll get or breaking things instead of just instantly going to cash in the ticket. What if you loose it? What if it gets stolen? What if it's not actually valid! Then what?? They're basically in debt for the rest of their lives! Something like this would never actually happen irl! There's also a trope in cartoons and shows where once the character(s), DOES actually get 1M dollars from a lottery ticket they become a snobbish jerk up until they run out of the money then realize their mistake and try to go back and say that "they're sorry"!

The 🍔 episode is an interesting one for sure. On one hand, Benson didn't need to eat the food they paid for themselves. That was simply petty. But on the other hand, Mordecai and Rigby put people's lives in danger, sabotage other workers, risking other people's jobs, and are on break pretty much everyday. If I was in Skips' position, and my co-worker contemplated letting me die for cake, risked my soul over a bowling ball, insulted me behind my back at a karaoke event, never does their job, so I have to do it for them, while they still get paid and keep their job for the work I did for them, then when I ask them to do me one favor and clean out my garage for storage, and all they can do is whine, dont do it for a week, and then try to take their 500th break to eat a burger instead.... If I was their co-worker, i would be petty and approve of what Benson did, as bad as that may sound. But still, shouldn't stoop to their level i suppose. Should have just bought burgers for them and kept it in a fridge, then let them have it when they're done working. Its more than they deserve, but at least that way you could guarentee that they'll finish the work by the end of the day, and you wont have to chase them around for all day.

My take on it is, no matter how they acted, Benson needs to be a boss, not a bully. If he can't depend on them, fire them. Or, if he just thinks they need incentive, like you said, make them work for the burgers.

I mean, maybe he might sort of consider them friends, idk, but that's beside the point. A proper boss who cares about getting work done would have fired them day 1, and if he desperately needed 2 extra people working, there are a lot of ways to give incentive to push them to work, rather than being petty most of the time.
