that 4 speed auto looks pretty damn sporty compared to a cvt
@Armorpiercer5 жыл бұрын
I think CVT is the worse decision people in car company can make in enthusiasm eyes
@busterscrugs5 жыл бұрын
Nah, a cvt would accelerate quicker because it can hold the engine at the perfect RPM at which it makes peak power or torque. It wouldn't feel as direct, and therefore maybe not as sporty, but it would be undoubtedly faster in a straight line while achieving better fuel economy. I drive a manual though, just playing advocate :-)
@apache12346575 жыл бұрын
cvts amazing feels like an electric car no waiting for kick down and gear changes or clutches and on the highway mine sits at 1500 rpm
@busterscrugs5 жыл бұрын
@@apache1234657 for real, my car is a manual but I've driven a CVT in a turbocharged Forester XT and I enjoy how smooth the low-end torque is with zero shifting. I think more car enthusiasts should try out a modern CVT before condemning them all.

I drove the dog shit out of that car everyday for a couple years and it wouldn't die. could keep up with v6 cars in the twistier roads as long as the hills were in 2nd or third. gave it to a friend and she immediately went on a 2400 mile road trip with no issues and an insanely low fuel bill. I had one of these, same model year, but in the two door. I traded it in for a 2006 Scion xA, which is just a Toyota Echo in a different body. I love your channel but these POV videos rub me the wrong way sometimes. It can feel like you are treating people's vehicles badly. It seems to be less of not having respect and more just disregard that you could be doing potential damage. It is weird because sometimes it seems like the persons car you are driving wants to be on your channel where as others seem like they were just paid by you to review their car. An example which comes to mind is the 99 Corolla video. The owner seemed to know little about his car and genuinley oblivious yet worried when you drove it. I don't care what anyone says, manually shifting an Automatic Transmission is NEVER okay while a vehicle is in motion. I do not mean for this to seem like a personal attack. As I have enjoyed your content for years now....
