The S80 and the V70 had the best looking cockpits ever build into a Volvo. Never seen something that beautiful

These Volvo S80s (2007 - 2016) were literally one of the first cars ever that passed the very strict IIHS small overlap front crash tests with good ratings. The safety structure platform remained the same throughout the years. For those who value safety above anything else, this beauty here, is a bang for the buck.

I think that the first Volvo xc90 made since the early 2000s passed the small overlap test too. So 2003 Volvo xc90 is rated good in the small overlap test, because the 2014 model that was tested received the good score and apparently the structure of the car stayed the same throughout the years

@vtr01044 жыл бұрын
That's not true.. If you live in an area with changing weather (I'm from Romania where we get 4 seasons with significant differences), tan makes a lot of sense. I'd order a brand-new car tan, if I had the money. It's not all white so you can avoid cooking in it in summer but have to suffer seeing any dirt on it, and it's not silver or black to look somewhat good when it's dirty but have to suffer in it in heat. Mud and dust aren't as noticeable on a tan car, and if you want to be low-key, you'll be equally stealthy in one. It all depends on what you want your car to be.

As a Volvo driver, I really want to complain about this review, but I kind of can't. It's comfortable, damnit. It's just really, really comfortable. Driving it carries all of the excitement of watching the beige paint dry in a spec house. Pushing it is pointless, because even at 100+ mph, you'll want to nod off. The gas mileage isn't great, and the reliability is on par with a Hyundai Accent, but with (somewhat) higher repair costs. Purchased new, the depreciation makes you question every life choice you've ever made. But it's comfortable. And safe. And warm. Basically, it is indeed oatmeal. But oatmeal is nice on a rainy day. And at some point, life becomes Seattle. Every day brings more rain. And when you reach that stage, a Volvo is pretty great.

The overseas delivery program sounds like a nice way to be able to drive yourself around on an extended vacation, then come home with a new car. The 280 horsepower is actually quoted for the 3.0 Turbo version of this engine, not the 3.2 naturally aspirated. I have a 2010 V70 wagon with the 3.0 engine (T6) and it feels much quicker than the looks suggest and I thought my car was really quiet even after removing the middle muffler, but when heard from the outside it's actually quite loud for a car like this, and I love the sound of that inline 6! It's not really a sporty car by any means, it's just a comfortable cruiser with a capable engine and fast enough to overtake a lot of cars on the highway and win at the lights sometimes.

I had a 1st gen T6 S80, and that car was fun. Was a total sleeper with the stock twin turbos. Bought it for $500, replaced a broken water pump, and drove it for awhile until the GM sourced 4T65-E transmission took a shit at the 150k mile mark.

@1:55 These specs you quoted are not accurate and are for the 3.0L inline 6 turbocharged motor, NOT the 3.2L inline 6 which this car has. Actually, if you google what this 3.2L inline 6 actually produces you will find that is indeed 235 horsepower. I own a 2010 S80 with the 3.0L turbo 6 cyl and It very much feels like 285 horsepower.
