The E350 is an apt choice for Dylan. That chassis hasn't changed since the Nixon and Ford administrations. Sure, it got a new body in '92, a major facelift in '08, and various interiors and engines along the way, but that same Ford VN platform has been in production for nearly 50 years. (The van body was discontinued in 2014, but the bare-chassis and cutaway versions live on. They even refreshed the interior again in 2020.)

This is a man who found a way out of Albert Camus' absurd mansituation by being not stuck between th euniverse fo definitions of ideas, but by melding with them and finding joy and aesthetic. AND does well and does well by his clients. Watching this in my 2012 E-350 passenger van I bought the passenger van for two reasons 1) My credit union wouldn't loan money on a cargo version because they couldn't imagine anyone wanting the owner van that didn't use it for a business and 2) You get less of those hard looks in the parking lot if your van has windows all the way around. I had a Chevy G van for almost 20 years. I would still have it except for the body just rusted away faster than I could keep up with it. That was a nice driving van. It rode well and could make incredibly tight turns for something its size. The E350 does not do tight turns. Unloaded it rides like it has steel bars for a suspension (which I guess technically it does). I am glad that it's due enough that they had largely addressed the spark plug issue and that it is at least the two valve 5.4 as opposed to the three valve. Why do I have it? I'm trying to consolidate four storage units and I've always had a van or truck but it rains a lot where I live so it's nice to be able to keep things out of the weather. I get what you mean about how it doesn't love you though. Even though it has more options than my old G van, namely power locks and power windows, it somehow still manages to feel both somehow more modern and more primitive than a van 30 years older. Maybe the old G vans were built with the conversion van market in mind and this was built for nothing other than the trades I don't know. I've got two Lincoln's, a town car and an MKC in one of those is busy or in the shop. I'm in the van. It's all right though. It does what I needed to do and after all isn't that enough?
