Maleficent is the only live-action remake that I think deserves to be explorable in Unreality. Don’t like the movie, but their is potential to have Sora (someone familiar with Maleficent) be surprised at how different and noble this new Maleficent is, especially if OG Maleficent shows up and interacts with her. It evens make sense for this world to be in Unreality because the gimmick of the movie starts by saying Sleeping Beauty 1959 was the fictional, false narrative in that world(only a story). If everyone in Unreality is flipped, the fictional story would be real in the Realm of Light and vice-versa in Unreality. What’s real and what’s fake depends on what side of the World Line you’re on.

I also could see Tim Burton's _Alice in Wonderland_ making an appearance in the Unreality in _Kingdom Hearts IV_ because Nomura had mentioned in past interviews that it's one of his favorite Disney movies (specifically Live-Action Disney films) and he loves the character of the White Queen (Anne Hathaway's character), plus the environment and the world of Wonderland (Underland) itself could provide ties to the Unreality (The World of Fiction) while at the same time be a different interpretation of the Wonderland that Sora previously visited in his own realm, along with the fact that during the film where the grown up Alice arrives in Underland and questions if it's a dream or "reality" mirrors Sora being in Quadratum and questioning himself if it's a dream or "reality".

I think the sentiment that the OG Sleeping Beauty was fictional kind of goes out the window because Aurora was a princess of heart in KH1 and very much a crucial part of the overarching plot of that first game. Not to mention that world's appearance in BBS. With Space Paranoids and The Grid, you could get away with it because Space Paranoids wasn't really a "world" in the conventional sense, but a computer system. So knowing that the system was based on a preexisting world makes significantly more sense than saying "actually this world and these characters that the main characters have tangibly interacted with were fictional the whole time".

Coco is obviously going to be in _Kingdom Hearts IV_ no question, thanks to the themes of Friendship, Remembrance, Family, and Memory that could tie into Sora and his whereabouts. However when it comes to the story, it's hard to say which route the story will go (retelling of the film, before or after the events of the movie) but considering that the worlds based on _Toy Story_ and the _Monster's Inc._ worlds in _Kingdom Hearts III_ we're largely original stories over a retelling of the movie at the request by Pixar, it's likely going to be the same for _Coco._ Now I'm on the fence if it would be set before the events of the movie or after the movie's events, I wouldn't be opposed to a post-movie story for _Coco,_ but Square Enix, Nomura and Pixar need to come up with an idea for what sort of post-movie story they can tell with Coco, the conflict that the Antagonist (The Foretellers) will cause in this world, along with how will Miguel return to the Land of the Dead and also that the story isn't a "carbon copy" of Monstropolis story from _Kingdom Hearts III_ considering that in the original movie, Miguel took Ernesto De La Cruz's Guitar causing him to be Cursed and while in the Land of the Dead he has to receive a blessing from his deceased relatives in order to return back to the living world and at the end of the film after Ernesto was exposed for his crimes and that the Guitar belongs to Héctor, the guitar became part of the Rivera Family and Miguel doesn't get Cursed again. If they do the prequel route set before the events of the movie then this is the most logical route considering that it will involve Héctor trying to cross the Marigold bridge to reach his daughter Coco but will soon encounter Sora or Kairi (whomever will encounter him) who will try to help him which can also tie into Kairi or Sora's character development. The prequel route somewhat makes sense instead of a sequel based storyline or the retelling of the movie cause in the original movie, Héctor for years has been desperate to try to see Coco, regardless if he's not on the ofrenda. On top of that, Coco is the only one that remembers Héctor and keeping him alive for years when compared to the rest of the Rivera Family (aside from Coco and Miguel) including Mother Imelda who just disowned him thinking he "abandoned them" including Coco, when in truth Ernesto de la Cruz murdered him. You also have The Alebrijes that could be another important story plot connection for the world cause in the original film they are meant to be spirit guides to their owners and their families such as Dante (for Miguel) and Pepita (for Mother Imelda). What if there were alebrijes that became corrupted and turned into either a Heartless or more importantly a Nightmare Dream Eater by the antagonist that came to this world such as Xigbar/Luxu or one of the Foretellers and do the opposite on their owners? I could so imagine the world culminating with either a Heartless or Dream Eater boss based on the Mexican deity, Quetzalcoatl with Kairi or Sora riding on Pepita and battling the boss in the vein of Sora riding on Baymax and the Magic Carpet.

For the possibility of Miguel going back to the land of the dead post Coco storyline. I genuinely think that the other characters in Coco are strong enough stand ins, to be the main party members or people that travel guide Sora and co through the land of the dead. Especially the great great grandpa character. With Miguel potentially introducing Sora and co to his family on the other side to lead them on while Miguel stays in the land of the living. Also potential for him to go to the land of the dead through Dante since that is straight up his spirit animal. Considering the point of the potential that the spirits have for corrupted enemies and stuff what not too is just way too strong not to make Coco a world. Like it is just so beautiful and vibrant and fits KH for a world so well.

But ultimately the world choices are up to Nomura and I strongly believe between choosing Encanto and Coco, he would choose Coco. The themes, the setting, the characters etc all just seem better for KH as a whole than what Encanto can bring to the story of KH.

Now what could hinder either one from appearing in _KHIV_ is that they may have similar aesthetics from either both a gameplay, story or a similar theme cause both films are set in a Latín American country (Coco in México, Encanto in Colombia), both of them involve a family member that is disgraced from the rest of the Family (Héctor - Coco; Bruno - Encanto) and a strict Abuelita (Abuela Elena - Coco; Abuela Alma - Encanto). I'd be surprised/shocked if we ended up with either _Coco_ or just _Encanto,_ but at the end of the day, it's up to Nomura and the development team if they want to have both _Encanto_ and _Coco_ in the same game or decide on having one of them cause literally the Disney worlds that appear in the Kingdom Hearts games are usually chosen based on the following: 1. Which Disney films Nomura and the team want as worlds for the specific KH game. 2. The themes that the specific returning and new Disney worlds based on that Disney or Pixar film have in common to the theme of the specific KH game (e.g. Friendship, Trust, Connections, Promises, etc.) - Which is debatable. 3. The Story the Disney world can offer for Sora's development and in the game's story. 4. The gameplay value and the environment that the world can offer. 5. Level Variety. 6. Disney and/or the fans giving Requests and suggestions to which films they want to see added in the game to Nomura and the team (e.g. Big Hero 6 in KH3, Hunchback in DDD). Same reason can be said why we didn't had worlds _Wreck-It Ralph_ and _Princess and the Frog_ for _Kingdom Hearts III_ because while yes both of them especially Ralph's world had different environments that Contrast to the rest of the Disney worlds environments seen in _Kingdom Hearts III_ they weren't included because: 1. Similar themes with the other worlds/films (in this case Toy Story and Ralph both involve Inanimate objects coming to life when their humans aren't around). 2. Similar-looking environments (Debatable because Wreck-It Ralph's world of Niceland, Hero's Duty and Sugar Rush, are different from the Disney worlds seen in KH3) 3. Similar Gameplay mechanics with the other Disney worlds 4. They didn't fit in with the theme of KH3 and decide to save those films for another game which is what happened with Wreck-It Ralph when it became a world in _Union χ_ to tie in with Game Central Station being connected to the Data Daybreak Town.

Think about it: *Zootopia:* Difference in positions between Judy as a Cop to her Boss Chief Bogo, the Predator vs. Prey. *Princess and the Frog:* Tiana and Facilier Difference in social Class from Charlotte and Charlotte's Father *Raya and the Last Dragon:* The different tribes wanting the Dragon gem causing it to Break and Raya and Namaari's bitterness and distrust from one another from each of their Tribe's POV. *Encanto:* Mirabel not being gifted while her other family members are gifted and Abuela Alma is at the top, while at the same time figuring out why the house is dying and the miracle being in Danger. *Moana:* Te Ka and Te Fiti being one in the same and also Moana and Maui's different view on what they want to do with the Heart of Te Fiti. Thank you for doing this breakdown regarding the predictions of the Pixar films we may be getting as worlds in _Kingdom Hearts IV_ Now I agree with you and you're not alone on this one Regular Pat but if we take into account the Toy Story and Monster's Inc. worlds in _Kingdom Hearts III_ all had an original story exlusive to KH over a retelling of their respective films (Toy Box's story set between Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3; Monstropolis' Story set after Monster's Inc.), and Pixar were the ones who had requested that change to Nomura and the team at Square Enix, it's likely that Coco, The Incredibles and several other Pixar movies (e.g. _Inside Out, Brave, Soul, Luca, Turning Red_ etc.) that will become future worlds in KHIV or a future game will likely follow an original story over a retelling of the movie at the request by Pixar. Now as to which Pixar worlds we might get in _Kingdom Hearts IV_ I could see Toy Box (Toy Story) making a return along with possibly 1-2 more Pixar worlds with the likely ones being _Coco_ and either _Inside Out_ or _The Incredibles_ Regarding _Wall•E,_ I love the film no doubt but with the way the movie ended I realistically see him along with EVE, M-O and the other robots as characters residing in an original KH world like Twilight Town or Radiant Garden in the same vein as Remy (Little Chef) and the Dalmatians over visiting his actual homeworld.

For Marvel specifically, the MCU is obviously the most likely, and safest, option. But alternatively, I also think it's the most boring option available, considering Marvel has two entire different Multiverses they can take from. Perhaps they could base it on the "Earth Mightiest Heroes" TV show, perhaps they could base it on the Avengers game that Square also made (even though nobody actually cares about that game), but personally, I just want them to make an entirely new Marvel Universe dedicated to Kingdom Hearts crossovers, like they did with Marvel Vs Capcom, because: 1. It gives them more creative freedom to do whatever the hell they want. 2. It's the most likely chance we have of getting an X-Men character (Wolverine) and, more importantly, Dr. Doom in Kingdom Hearts, the latter of which would be a great villain for the world. 3. Marvel designates it's universes with numbers, such as "Earth-616" for the main universe, and the chance to name the KH Marvel universe "Earth-713 *_(seven-thirteen)"_* for a meta joke is personally too good to pass up. But no matter what they do, Spider-Man has to be in there somewhere, because Peter Parker is absolutely the kind of dork that would make friends with Sora.

I feel like Spider-Man would be Sora’s main and only party member in a world that’s just Marvel in general. It works because: 1. Him and Sora would gel really well together no matter what version of him they use. 2. Spidey has always been a sort outlier/outsider to the overall Marvel universe both in and out of universe so it makes sense to have him join the people not from his world.

I 100% agree. I get kinda bored and annoyed that all discussions of Marvel in KH alwas boil down with the MCU as it bases, when the point of having this whole superhero comic book multiverse is like having infinite different adaptations of it's characters and scenarios. It would be much more fun and creative if they made there own KH adaptation of this characters and coming up with an unique story than just copying the MCU. Like even different adpatations like cartoons and video games that o take cues or elements made up for the MCU do try to be mostly unique or there own thing instad of just being a carbon copy, so I don't know why it couldn't also be so for a Kingdom hearts world. (Also I have no idea how the Square enix Marvel games situation fits in to all of this, since they sold the studios and developers responsable for those games, but the licensing contract is still under SE's name) PS: If I were in charge of adapting a Marvel KH I would make it to be a more styalised comic booky style world to make it both distint from other KH worlds but the other Super hero Frandshises like Big Hero 6 and the Incrediables (even though technally Big Hero 6 was original a Marvel super hero group).

Love the series! Minor stats nerd here-it would be fun if as sort of an epilogue to the last video we took a look back at which properties were the most polarizing. Not between want/predict or Pat/audience, but within those. Beyond averages, any measure of variance like standard deviation or range-a high result would mean there was a lot of disagreement in the audience, like a lot of 1s but also 9s.

I feel like you could cram a lot of the Pixar/Disney characters whose movies are set in cities into one city-esque hubworld like Quadratum. And if we end up doing Star Wars, we could probably do something similar where we have cameos or guest appearances in a space world from other properties. The ones that are less likely to me are the water worlds or ones that take place in rural/fantasy settings, since those are more distinctive and hard to cram into one place.

After part 1 of this project, I went through all the Pixar films in my head and came to a strange conclusion. I like a lot of the Pixar films. Love them even. But I think a lot of them would REALLY need some elbow grease to make them work in the KH formula. Not impossible, but some of them are either very slice of life like Ratatouille or Up and others very abstract like Soul or Inside Out that might not be workable. Personally, my top pick is actually A Bugs Life. I think it has the most potential to be fun and interesting. I really want Incredibles, but I feel like if they ever do another superhero world in KH, they're going to just bite the bullet and pick Marvel.

I can see KH4 taking a Nier route with storytelling, with Kairi, Riku, and Sora’s playthroughs revealing more of a larger story. And possibly the idea of Sora not coming back but rather becoming a defender of whatever new reality he’s in, echoing the lessons of Up, Soul, Onward, etc. It would definitely be bittersweet but it could show a maturation of KH’s friends forever messaging

I'd love a Rattatouille world that begins with Scrooge asking Sora to help Remy find his way back home. Have him reunite with the other rats and Linguini, with some kind of tiresome Heartless as an obstacle. The environment would be a mix of sewers and a giant restaurant, and when you finish the world you get to walk around the restaurant as normal sized Sora and cook with Remy.

I've had a thought recently that, much like how we were introduced to Quadratum via Verum Rex from a TV in Andy's bedroom, we could see bits of Lightyear come from a TV or moving billboard that's showing a trailer for Lightyear while in Quadratum. Like, Sora can be seen walking around in Quadratum, something catches his eye and it turns out to be a moving billboard that shows Buzz with his look from the Lightyear movie, and Sora is surprised to see him but makes a comment that he knows Buzz and that he doesn't look or act like what he just saw from the moving 3D billboard. Kinda have it as a little tongue-in-cheek way of having comparisons to "reality vs unreality" (what Sora knows from his past adventures, aka his reality, vs what's normal to those that live in Quadratum, aka their reality or Sora's unreality). I don't know if they'll actually do something like that, but I figured it would be kinda cool.

If they're going to put one of the live action remakes into a KH game, I think the only one that really makes sense (or at least the one that makes the most sense) is Alice in Wonderland. Sora and co. have been to the world and met those characters before, and the remake is set *after* the events of the OG Alice movie (and by extension, KH1), so you could easily create a storyline around that. I also think that Tim Burton's Wonderland is really visually interesting and would make for a really cool world to explore.

This is shaping up to be a great series! Random thought I had but with quadratum being a new universe of sorts, I wonder if there would be alternate versions of some of the worlds in the older games. It could be an interesting way to rehash some of the older worlds in a new and fun way. Though I don’t think that would happen as I feel Disney has gotten more locked down on what kh can do with their worlds. Also it would be more fun to see worlds that we haven’t had in the series yet which I think is what the series is going towards :)

I've always felt that a WALL-E world ("Trash Planet," as I referred to it in my KHI days) could work really well as an "exposition world." One where the game story is given more prominence and time to develop without having to slam the breaks on the Disney stuff entirely. An OC villain could be hatching some sort of scheme in this desolate world with no prying eyes, or some Maguffin needs to be retrieved somewhere in these acres of garbage, what have you. And WALL-E himself would be the emotional through-line, quickly becoming a companion and prioritizing his safety and livelihood as much an importance as the task at hand.

Inside Out would be great for a split storyline a la CoM or 3D. Have one character interact with Reilly outside while the other interacts with the emotions inside. The emotions being able to see through Reilly’s eyes even sets up one of those “so close yet so far” moments we had in 3D Traverse Town pretty nicely.

What if the Inside Out world took place inside Roxas or Xion's heads? In the KH3 Limit Cut episode, Riku mentions that the Twilight Town gang is examining Roxas and Xion's memories to see if they hold a clue to where Sora might have gone. An adventure inside their heads could be an interesting way to showcase that process. Or, alternatively, it could take place inside Ventus' head, and be the way that he ultimately recovers his missing memories from the Union Cross era. This could also provide players who never played KHUX essential backstory for Strelitzia, who is obviously going to be a major character on the unreality side of things. Either way, it'd be fascinating.

I gotta say, i really want a proper Cars world just because of how weird it could be. We had "gimmick" worlds in both KH 1 (Atlantica and to a lesser extent Neverland) and 2 (Pride Lands), but didn't get any on 3, which was a real shame to me (although The Caribbean could be considered half gimmick??). To me Cars would be the perfect gimmick world and the perfect pixar movie for that and i really want those back. And for anyone who thinks combat just wouldn't work just search for "tank combat @tuxedopato" to have an idea of a similarly unconventional hack n slash combat would be like. Of course those animations wouldn't work for car Sora (or bike Sora, as i prefer to imagine), but imo they could go for a similar feeling to that and it would work really well. In the end of the day tho, since the world count seems to get lower and lower this would probably just fill the slot of a better world unfortunately. I would still like to get the world treatment anyway, but overall it's probably for the best that Cars will never get an actual world.
