Great sounding bike. I recently bought a 2009 V7. I've owned over a hundred bikes but never a Guzzi. I bought it after servicing one, and decided it was a great bike for a mechanic. Easiest thing I've ever worked on. The ticking valve train seems to be normal I suppose. I heard it on yours. I checked my valves a few times, and they are spot on. This little bike makes the most wonderful mechanical sounds. I love it!

Wow, that's a fine individualized example of the V7. I would like mine, when I get one, to be just like yours with just about all the same customization. The yellow fog lights really make it ready for Gotham City. When I do my Guzzi like yours, don't worry, I'm way over here in Westminster...Colorado that is, haha, in suburban Denver Colorado USA!

Wow.... Wrapping the pipes and putting an LED strip on the tail.... Gnarly semi-knobbly tyres... very original. I love what these kids are doing with their bikes... It's important to say here that you'll never see two the same. All too odd.... Silencers are now mufflers. Very nice motorcycle. Hanging the plate off the subframe and doing away with the back part of the mudguard.... Righteous! Up to a point.

@barryolaith4 жыл бұрын
Guzzi's are very reliable, overengineered bikes. Last forever. Out of genuine interest, what makes you doubt the reliability? Lazy journos throughout the 80's and 90's just re-hashed old myths and they became entrenched in bike culture.
@FunWithAJ4 жыл бұрын
@@barryolaith I use 2 mechanics here in SoCal for my Triumph. I was considering getting a newer Guzzi prior but both mechanics echoed that their reliability/quality is shotty as of late. Not saying they are the definite authority on Guzzis just what I've heard.

Gee mate, I came from a BMW 1150 rockster which cost an arm & leg, if something went wrong and was not really fuel efficient. To a V7c, yes when I picked her up from the dealer I was disappointed with the mirrors but that was fadt forgotten, I just feel in love with the sound & the display. I did trouble free riding in 4 years and 50 T km. Including going around Australia. I sold it because I left Australia for 3 years in 2012, didn't think I would be back. But when I did I bought a 2008 breva 750 (less chrome - and I hate cleaning my bikes) which I flew to Santiago, Chile and we currently have 50t km on the clock, 15 t km since Oct 2019 in S. America. And we be gone until July 2020 all trouble free. And I don't need a PC to service the bike. And it stays below 5 l/100km even heavely loaded & 2up. These bikes if serviced regularly go a long way. A friend has a 1972 Nuovo Falcone that thing still goes off like a rocket. Sorry went for a rant.

The styling of an 80's bike? I'd say that's more 60's or 70's styling. The 80's weren't a great decade for design as far as I'm concerned. : ) I normally don't like crash bars but those look cool with the big fog lights on them. I had a V7iii Special for a little while. They're fun bikes.

Well, I vote for you keeping the tape on just to assert your personal choice. As a frugal teen back in the 70s I was lucky enough to ride a really nice 1967 BMW R69S. But the mufflers rusted through I waited quite a while to replace them (very expensive for new ones.) So for quite a while I rode around with coffee can patches held on with hose clamps (an MJB can on one side and Folgers on the other). When I saw how much this upset some self-appointed purists, I purposely rode with the old mufflers just to enjoy being defiant. Gratuitous advice can be gratuitously ignored.

Nice job. It's a right shame you didn't use a 2013 model. Same look but much better fueling and power with the single throttle body. Quite a different riding experience. Don't the pre-2012 V7s have plastic fuel tanks too? Can't imagine why you started with a 2009 bike. Best of luck!
