Old guy here; having changed more exhaust pipes than you can imagine I will share a couple of tips with you. 1. a little WD 40 spray on the joint will help with removal of the old pipe. 2. buy some exhaust paste from a muffler shop and put it on the side that the new pipe will cover. this helps to make it easier to slide the new pipe over the joint.. It also helps seal the joint . Plus it will make it easier to remove the pipe and install the original pipes should it be necessary to pass your MOT 3 clean the new pipe very well with a handy wipe or an eye glass cleaner , before you start the machine . Other wise your finger prints will be forever visible after the pipe gets hot. I just subscribed and look forward to the next upgrade .

Doug, best comment. Thank you. Thought this too. You can see a lot of videos, where people don't use any grease, just screwing everything together and that's it. They need more mechanic base lessons !!!!

@Webbo-gf6eq good point. To me the sound characteristics, atleast on video sounds better with DB out. Id like that sound but not too loud. No db-killers has been measured to about ~110db, db killers remove about 20db. on revving that is. Whit all that said it sounds amazing with db killers just as it is. Since the db-killers are pretty easy to swap in and out a mapping device with dual maps is a not too pricey option that will give booth of worlds. I wonder how the bike would run on a db-out map and the db-killers installed. I guess fatter fueling than the opposite and thus in theory a colder running engine with some risk to the lifecycle of catalysts. The stock maps have supposedly been updated to remove lean fueling issues at 2-3k rpm, with that into consideration a db-out map for hooligan days and stock map for gentleman days is possible, with little to no sacrifice. Caveat: im not a mechanic and don't have a bike.

Maybe not a popular opinion here but I like the stock set up. I've found that quiet mufflers on my V7 850, have allowed me to "Sneak up" on some really impressive wildlife while touring Europe. Let's be fair, if you are touring, you are looking for the experience or being in the scenery, otherwise you'd take the train right? I've had my system apart to be able to fit a centre stand. (That's a fun job!) I was happy to get it all back on, and will be keeping it like it was from the factory. Ride safe!

Gutsibits are an excellent stop off point for Moto Guzzi owners, I have visited them on several occasions for new and used spares, they are sited in an old mill building which is next door to the Empire Brewery. Gusibits are in Slaithwaite (pronounced "Slawit") near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. If you are calling in person, Gutsi bits advise telephoning them first and giving them your registration number, they will put it on their visitors list so that you don't get a parking fine. If you want some refreshments, there is a nice cafe just around the corner from Gutsibits, by the side of the canal.

For some reason i think the Agostinis sounds and look better. Regarding the sound i am not sure i would ace a Pepsi challenge though.. That said, the ones you run now sound real nice Darcy! I would like to hear them without Db-killers but i suspect i'd leave them in, personally. And i would get a UpMap tune even with these mufflers as the bike runs ridiculously lean from the factory. At least i'd do a old school spark plug test/read - Run it at max revs and kill the engine without letting off the gas, stop immediatley and pull the plugs and inspect them. That's the way we did it in the late 80's - early 90's :) Cheers!

I'm not over keen on loud exhausts, more specifically volume for volume's sake. I think of exhausts like opera, good opera singers need both volume and control, they can't just stand on stage and shout the words. Your Guzzi is sounding great, but then it would, Italy is the home of opera after all.

After market slip-ons are really great and weight saving but make sure you wait until the original bike warranty runs out to avoid any other claim problems. Also make sure you get a document from the supplier stating that the mufflers meet the relevant local emissions standards such as E5 to avoid problems when you do your MOT or equivalent. I put Agostinis on my V7 carbon, added a DNA air filter and a fuel controller. Sound wonderful, especially on start up.

@@johntheaccountant5594 Not at all, she complains about everything, I live on a corner house by the way. I have a workshop in my garden as I fix guitars and amplifiers all day for a living, I ride my bike for pleasure so at least not starting it up at 6am every morning like the guy who lives across from me who actually rides for a living (motorcycle instructor) (yes he is loud). I fitted Agostini slip-ons on my V7, a DNA air filter and a rapid bike fuel controller, screen and a very useful centre stand. I suggest you put some loctite red on the bolt threads and use the recommended torque settings as Guzzis do vibrate and the nuts can come loose over time. I had my gear lever came loose and I my rear reflector fell off due to the bolts loosening. When it comes time to replace your battery, fit a Lithium ion ( big weight saving). When your tyres need replacing try some Continental Road Attack 3s.. Big improvement in handling.

If I had that bike in a sunnier country I'd like to TEST a shorter (if any) rear fender, aftermarket double tail light under the seat and I'd look into the possibility of polishing that grey lettering on the tank to chrome. The rest is perfect.

Sounds great, also looks really nice! Not sure if it’s the same on Guzzis but I just put some ‘quiet’ baffles in my M8 Heritage pipes to aid the lack of back pressure which didn’t hurt the sound too much but brought back all the low-end torque. The plus side of you riding it before taking out the baffles is that you’ll be able to notice whether or not the performance is affected.

Just for balance I'm feeling that sounds good, and not too loud.

Mistrals are the best upgrade for the money in my opinion. And it makes the V7 sound like it should! I've got some on mine as well, haha!

Also running a 21 v7 850 special in grey. I dropped on mistral longs with db killers… I can also recommend a DNA air filter, and get yourself UpMap and reflash it to kill the E5 grumbles under 3200 rpm. I have all 3 and the bike is completely transformed.

Not gonna lie, this video made me so envious, as I don't have a drive, guts or an ability to do those things with my dad. New exhaust sounds good! As you drove away, it gave this aggressive race car sound, seems unique to me.

Sounds lush! Maybe loud enough and the tone is superb! Will be very interesting to see the results of the next steps. It's a really stunning looking bike, I'm surprised it's not way more popular.

Your videos keep getting better. I loved the music on this one and the editing. This video should have been boring but it wasn't at all. The exhaust sounds lovely. Not too loud either...for now!! BTW I liked your neighbour's MG midget.

0:05 That's not a knoife... sorry, couldn't help it. Your bike looks wicked with those exhausts. And it sounds astoundingly. Cheers.

I have the 2024 Triumph Bobber Stealth Edition, and it's beeeeeeautiful❤. So far, I have only changed the exhaust for a Hitchcox system. Sometime, I think that's all you need. Some bikes look perfect already.

I would have chosen the longer mistrals. Suits the style of the bike more imo.

I put a Mistral muffler along with Agostini big bore headers and y-pipe on my '24 V100 Mandello. Left the dB killer in, it was a little too loud with it out. Also have a '23 V7 Special Edition that came with OEM Arrow mufflers, replaced them with a set of full-length Agostini reverse cone mufflers with the dB killers out, and an UPMAP tune. Now it sounds like a proper air-cooled Guzzi should! You're lucky that you have the Euro-spec tail light, that was one of the first things I changed on my US-model. From what I remember, the difference is something like 115mm in diameter versus 65mm, so the Euro-spec one is much smaller, and looks a LOT better. Also went with dual Hella disc horns, engine guards, solo seat, and a tinted fly screen, so it makes the Special Edition that much more "special"! Enjoy yours!

Sounds fantastic! I'm currently waiting for the same exhausts from Gutsibits, although I didn't bother with the filter and velocity stack, so I'll be interested to see how you get on with them. Looking forward to following all the mods you have planned.
