In my opinion, we are more compliant and consistent with rehab exercises if we care less about hitting the recommended number of reps and sets on a certain number of days per week and care more about just doing some reps when we can in the day, when the opportunity comes our way.
It’s working for me!!
As a dad of two young girls and pretty busy with work and all the things that go along with work and family, it can be very very difficult to fit these set rehab sessions into your weekly diary. And this can lead to demotivation and feelings of personal inadequacy in your ability to follow a rehab plan prescribed to you by a therapist/physio etc.
Instead, just throw out a couple of reps here and a couple there (reaching some level of fatigue in the working muscle) throughout the day and it adds up over a week plus this approach places you in a more powerful and confident position to build a successful habit of doing your rehab exercises anyways!!
