Quite underrated too. Whenever I hear people talk about RD, I always hear Tim Roth, Michael Madsen or Harvey Keitel and, although those three are incredible, Steve Buscemi deserves more attention for his work in RD.

The comments criticizing Quentin's acting are missing what these guys are doing. It's just Quentin hashing out the scene with Buscemi seeing what works what can be cut out. It's building the scene in an organic way. Quentin knows Harvey Keitel is Mr. White. Quentin doesn't have to be Marlon Brando he just has to have Buscemi get the rhythm of the dialogue.
@fourth10004 жыл бұрын
True. But! Tarantino originally was going to play Mr. Pink until Buscemi took the role from him in a challenge by tarantino.

we know quentin is decent as an actor but he is not ''the actor'' he's being himself here and every movie he's being into.

It's also getting the blocking and the shots worked out. The long shot in the room which will be a warehouse on location. Then, most of the second part of the scene uses the bathroom mirror to include both characters in the shot intstead of using a two-shot. And this is a guy making his first feature. Had he ever directed actors before? This is a REMARKABLE document!

We do not see all that goes down with them. We know they see one another (I think they may be meeting for the first time) at the bar with Joe and Eddy. They also camp out at the store and go over the plan of attack. We see they have some connection, but a lot of it is off screen, but it is clear they have gotten to know one another. That is the beauty of films; often it leaves things to the audience's own imaginations.

Next, QT is playing Mr Pink and Busciemi is still playing Mr White. @Джон Снейк well of course not. lets say he got inspired. He took the things he like put them together (like scenes) add his vision in it and wrote good dialogue with good characters and knew who to cast. And he took everything he liked and made them better in every way. He took scenes from old hollywood films and made them more meaningful. Took the angle and made it work better than it did before. He kinda renewed what Hollywood already had. This is not ripping off guy who wrote the comment is clearly a hipster. Everything is already a reproduction you should take something and add something else into the mixture its how everything moves forward.
