This is the tent that got me through two 6-week excursions, has been set up and taken down over 100 times over 3 years, and has been worth every penny. I also end up going over what our typical "extended stay" basecamp looks like.

Jeep Life!! I'm in the process of figuring out what tent I want to get lol... Was thinking T4plus but that thing is Long and Heavy!! And of course it needs to fit in my JKU so now I'm looking Into the REI stuff. Three Adults and two small dogs

I would say that the 6-person left 2 guys and Rosco with just enough room, so you may wanna consider their 8 person. The vestibules are my favorite part other than being able to stand up inside. Plenty of room to store gear! - Brandon

Good walk though! I thought I wanted a roof top tent, but when I consider that this thing costs $500, weights 20lbs, packs down to the size of a backpack, can sleep 4 to 6 people comfortably, you can stand inside it for changing clothes, you can use your full roof rack for storing other things, significantly reduces your weight (200lbs vs 20lbs), keeps the weight down lower in the vehicle assuming it’s packed inside, you can drive away from it in an emergency if someone or something sketchy shows up at camp (or if you need to make a quick run into town) this ground tent is very very very appealing. The price difference between this ground tent and a large 4 person roof top tent is probably $3,000 to $4,000 when you factor in the roof rack, adapters, annexes, etc. I could use that money for gas, food, more experiences, or even stay in AirBNBs or hotels once and while. Assuming an Airbnb is $100 a night, that’s 30 to 40 nights I could stay somewhere warm with a shower, wifi, laundry, etc.
F***in trailspinTV content. And not even my birthday. Welcome back man.

where did you get the poles to create the awning?
@trailspinTV3 жыл бұрын
Bought them at an army surplus store, but they’re just called “tent poles” I believe. I will say that the tips were not small enough to go through the holes in the tent, so I have to tie them together up top. If you could find tips small enough, it would save time. I suck at knots or tying things off in general. - Brandon

You find it too hot for summer camping?

Nah, with the rain fly off it stays just as cool as the outside air.
