That's so crazy to me, because it was my very first time watching live mtg coverage and I didn't realize how special that event was. I've also rewatched all the Reid matches dozens of times and have gotten into Blue X control Decks since then :D

Also I, amongst thousands and thousands of magicians all over the world, have been dreaming about seeing Reid play Grixis Control in Legacy again. And just when hope is about to vanish, he did it. Makes the year of the bull quite a lot more worthwile! And lf course, to make the deck more competitive, everyone should add at least one copy of one's favorite Bolas card ito the deck! :-D

GP Richmond It’s like it happened yesterday, that’s the first time I watched reid duke playing mtg. I am sure that Reid Duke is one of the greatest players in the world. Maybe some cards will eventually disappear in the long river of time, but memories are priceless. Isn't it?

is there any reason not to run 2/2 pyroblast/red elemental blast and hydroblast/blue elemental blast? seems to have slight upside vs stuff that names targets with no visible downside (since we aren't naming them either)

The blasts are better because you don't have to target a blue thing to cast them which only really matters to put them in the yard for delve/escape purposes. The only card I can think of that punishes that situation that's actually played I'd cabal therapy and even then you'd have to have both in hand and generally the only deck that plays that is veteran explorer decks which you wouldn't bring those in anyways. I think the upside is so minimal, just pick the art you like and go with that.

One expressive iteration can't be correct can it? That seems like one of the best cards in the game right now. I know being a control deck you don't have the 1 drop threats to play off it but it's still a draw 2 for 2 that's often even better than that and legacy has had precious few true forms of playable card advantage ever since Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time got the axe.
