Those Electrix MoFX are probably the most fun modulation effect ever! You can engage each effect separately or momentarily turn them on. When the effect is engaged momentary turns the effect on while you hold it. Tap tempo for easy setup. They're so great and cheap I have a couple in my studio - I keep one permanently on my DJ setup.
@rapfreak77978 жыл бұрын
Typo, hitting momentary turns the effect off when engaged is selected.

Hello Warren, at about 32:30 you say “I went 1073 and I split and I did parallel compression and I printed parallel” Did you mean you split the vocal having one going into the DBX and one going into the 1176 and printed each of them individually? Or did you print 1 Neve strip with nothing on it and then the other channel with both the DBX and the 1176 on the same channel?? Haha. Obviously I will experiment but I’m just curious what you meant. Thanks as always Warren!! and you too, have a marvelous time mixing and recording 🤘🏽🤘🏽

Wow that's a dream studio for me haha but I couldn't afford that. Knobs Buttons Faders GEAR very inspiring , yet I know in the Box now will at the end of the day will be about as good & most listeners won't hear the difference . Thx for sharing these Documentary's that should be put into a full length Film it's a Great service by Documenting these studios Warren. Get Billy Bob Thornton to do a voice over you would have a classic Historical deep look into those magic places that the Great Recordings were captured with. In the Box is GREAT but this is history Art Culture this needs to be seen beyond YT. Just a thought.

So you go Soft compression before limiting? Seems counterintuitive to me. What's your reasoning for it?
@Producelikeapro8 жыл бұрын
Hi Luuk, thanks for the question! Hmm no it makes perfect sense to me! haha I got it from Dave Jerden, Jack Douglas and a bunch of other guys! The basic thing is to compress the signal all of the time lightly and then catch any huge peaks, try it you'll get full fat sounding vocals! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
@johnthecreative4 жыл бұрын
I heard Bitch Vig said he used to plug guitars and stuff directly into the Echo Plex - it does more than just effects apparently. I could never get them to sound the way I want but I'm sure I wasn't using it right. Seems like they either don't do enough or they do too much and it's hard to get the right combination and hard to get it to kick in at the right time or make it shut up after the effect you want finally comes out (whenever that may be).

Hello Warren, Platnum here, How important is a noise reduction in digital recordings? Does it add anything or take away? See you in the music.
@Producelikeapro8 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles, it depends on what you are looking to use it for! If it's reducing noise it a very noisy signal then of course! But traditionally noise reduction was for the noise associated with Tape etc. I hope that helps? Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
@Platnumbaby8 жыл бұрын
Hello, Warren do you experience hum in your DMP. I brought one after seeing your talk about it and have been using it for months. There is a slight hum. It has the mod on the transformer but still a little hum. I put a api gate on it and it works. But just wonder do you do something different or no noise at all on yours? See you in the music.
@Producelikeapro8 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles, no I don't have any hum at all. They are very good at warranting their equipment, I'm sure if you call them they will help! Have a marvellous time reacording and mixing, many thanks Warren!

"Jazz is shit music". - John Lennon. Seriously, Jazz really is shit music because it doesn't go anywhere and it's overly repetitive. The reason they play it in coffee shops is because it makes customers drowsy so they keep buying more coffee to stay awake. The only thing I like about it is it can be used as a sleep aid. Also there's not any more melody in it than any other kind of music.
