YOU ARE SIPMLY THE BEST Dr Wilson...! My BIGGEST regret in life is that I did not discover you (I know perhaps erp didn' t even 'exist' then) when I was young..several decades ago.! You have a unique way of communicating that goes straight to the CRUX of the matter...besides that you are also, in my opinion, THE most outstanding expert on this..period. Never mind the several decades delay.. NOW... "I shall PERSIST until I SUCCEED" With your expert input it's really very very possible if not CERTAIN to beat this life sapping anxiety & OCD monster. God bless.!

I've been waiting my whole life to ask these very crucial questions about OCD, 1:what worse things OCD victims are prone to? 2:how serious is OCD if it left untreated? 3:is life worth living if you have non respondent ocd
@bettina_s2 жыл бұрын
If it's left untreated it gets worse. Therapy is awful but what you do with your loved ones because of OCD is worse I guess.

Hello everyone I’m From Nigeria and I’ve had OCD since I was six and now I’m 20 years old. Some nights ago I had a thought which I’m obsessing over just before I slept and I it spiked some fear in me and now I’m thinking that if I don’t do the compulsion which is masturbation at certain days that I would end up having bad dreams about that thought as a result of my anxiety and obsession about the thought. And also I’m thinking it’s not OCD because the reason to the compulsion (which is because I will have bad dreams as a result of the anxiety and obsession about the thought) feels meaningful and I’m constantly persuaded by my mind to know if it’s OCD or not which I haven’t been able to find the answers to and this particular situation is not like other once where you can say “oh! I know the reason why in doing this compulsion is ridiculous” in this case the reason (which is having bad dreams about the thought as a result of the obsession of the thought) feels meaningful and it’s been difficult to do erp.......please what do I do I’m stuck please I need help!!

Danger or Discomfort? If you or I have a doubt that really bothers us, though, we’re likely to respond very differently. We’re likely to treat that doubt as if it were a sign of danger, rather than the usual discomfort we can feel about uncertainty. When you get tricked into treating the discomfort of doubt as if it were danger, this leads you to struggle against the doubt, trying to remove the unwanted thoughts from your mind. How do you struggle against the doubt? You might try hard to prove to yourself that the feared event simply won’t happen. This usually results in arguing with yourself and feeling more anxious as a result. You try to “stop thinking about it,” only to get the same results that come from banning books-it increases your attention to and interest in the unpleasant idea! You might try to do something to protect against the feared event and then find yourself worrying about whether or not that protection will be sufficient. You might bother your friends and family with repeated requests for reassurance. However, when they do tell you that you’ll be okay, then you worry that they’re just humoring you so you’ll stop talking about it. And you get dug in, deeper and deeper, with more doubt and fear, and more unsuccessful struggle against it.

I can't help but think this Dr is money hungry. Any free vid he has is only like under 7 minutes long. He charges $250 an hour for sessions.

God forbid he try and make a living. He provides an extraordinary amount of free content which describes his full approach.
