This is a timely topic that very few intellectuals like Justice Marvic Leonen can explain.

@@happysolitudetv So thankful for his thoughtful example. Something to strive toward. His skill at critical thinking is the accomplishment in my view, not his title.

Stumbled upon this in my attempt to understand reification as capitalism's tendency to create alienated and atomized individuals who take abstract social relations for concrete things. Justice Leonen's claim that social media is a large eco-chamber that create citizens that have only one way of looking at things very much resonates with the role of commodity as the universal structuring principle. Social media, as a commodity itself, destroys the organic interpersonal bonds in society. Social media is the nexus for social relations. Andbutso, through social media, social relations loses its uniquely human character (eg: the capacity and willingness to listen to dissent) and becomes purely an epistemic bubble for people of the same beliefs. It's a disease and yet we can't seem to avoid it.
