I like going to idol shows. I usually just go to Akiba when there's a show I want to see- and go early or stay later to shop. If you happen to be in Akiba today, November 13th, I would highly recommend going to the Blue Forest Idol show at Akichika, starting from 7pm. If you reserve on their website (literally just before walking into the door, if you so desire) it's 1500 yen for a 1.5 hour show with a softdrink or beer. There are usually shows around town that go for hours and hours, but the entry fee is more around 2500-3500 yen- 1500 is passable for someone trying something out. Hardly any foreigners go to idol shows. They have almost as much awkwardness as maid cafes, but more fun. If you're a girl it's probably even more awkward, though there's often a girl's section and there can be discounts- or outright free shows. If you're ever in Tokyo and want to try one, happy to research a quality / high value show to attend.

It was on a local E3 like event called First Look. The game was very fun, However, the person in charge of the floor plan was probably drunk, because he put a DJ playing "kabouter plop" right next to all the rhythm games! We had a great time though. Having a free pay arcade setup next to the lines were you can play the new and unreleased stuff was great! You always had something to play, to do, or to see!

For some reason Akiba always does the same thing for me: I leave tired from all the walking, with a lot less money and looking for an extra suitcase to take home.
