@@louf2207 That's not true. Demon Slayer's Hell is based in Buddhism. In Buddhism, Hell is a place where you offset the bad Karma you accumulated in life, in order to be reborn with a clean slate. Think of it like a prison sentence. That's why Daki is portrayed as a child in the afterlife (unlike gyutaro) and was given the chance to reincarnate because that's how she died, as an innocent child, she never wanted to turn into a demon it was her brother who decided for her. Everything she did was just the consequence of turning into a demon, if it wasn't for Tanjiro nezuko would've had murdered a lot of people but you wouldn't say she's evil, right? That's why Daki following Gyutaro and Rui's parents following their son into Hell is not as bleak as it seems. Eventually they'll all have a chance to have a new beginning. It'll just take more time than the rest of the characters that are not demons/didn't commit sins. The cycle of rebirth deeply ingrained in Buddhism is also why Tanjiro never hesitates to decapitate Demons, because to him is not about a violent act of punishment, is about releasing the trapped souls of Demons back into the natural cycle of rebirth.

@@mettfrr7688 Nah, this is Japanese Hell. They'll pay for their sins for a few centuries, maybe even have a stint of two as lower lifeforms, and then they'll be good to try again in another life. In Gyutaro's case, since Ume followed him despite being given a chance to ascend to Heaven or reincarnate without him, that decision will be taken into account and he'll have decades if not a century or two shaved off his sentence. He also won't have to bear both their sins now, as Ume agreed to pay for her own. Their wish to be reborn as siblings will also be taken into account, and they'll probably get another shot at it. Though that might be part of their punishment too, because from the looks of it Gyutaro and Ume are soulmates and they really should be reborn as a destined pair. But because of their twisted circumstances that could carry over into their next life and screw them over.
