By the way, if your position of coupler comes at the junction then it is not a big deal. Well, for It's safety, the structure consultant keeps for a lap position( Zone-2) .

Sir I have a question, our site contractor claimed extra length for forging in column rebar , is it claimable??

You must have seen two methods in this video. threading and forging; Threading and forging methods have different rates. If you are getting forging method done at your construction site, then you have to give separate rate to the contractor for reinforcement forging as mentioned in the video. In forging method, you have to give the rate of steel forging. There is no need to count the steel length separately. I hope you have understood. Revert in case of any query required.

@@civilkudos actually problem is that he is claiming length of rebar 30mm more at every coupler location, because during forging that 30mm is pressed and then will do forging, is this concept is right ?? Should we pay for him for additional 30mm

@@maheshj660 , No, you don't have to do that. You only have to pay the rate of forging. There is no need to give any extra length.
