Yh correct me if I'm wrong but I think I was under the misconception that the kid was saved as soon as Subaru respawned, when in fact some time had passed already. That's what caused even more confusion for me. But yeah I didn't catch onto some of the things I was confused about like Emilia calling herself Satella until literally episode 12 or something lol.

I'm sure it's just that some events are inevitable if you don't take action to change them. The world is a giant machine with infinite cogs in motion and processes being played out. Unless you change something, the results will always be the same. And often times, one things leads to another which leads to another like dominoes and the details matter very little. For example. You have a barrel of apples for sale in the market. Some people buy them until they are all gone. This is reasonable to say a likely outcome. Now say you interfere with 2 or 3 or 4 people buying apples, would that stop them from getting sold out? Probably not, because someone else would just buy them instead. So the selling of them is inevitable unless you interfere and stop selling them. Even switching to oranges would have a similar result of selling all the oranges instead of the apples. The details change but the outcome is the same. Pretty much every event in time and space could be thought of like this. The result of infinite causes adding up to an effect. Changing the causes doesn't always change the effect. Tossing your trash and clothes onto the floor of your room will cause your parents to get angry (or whoever) but the configuration of the trash on the floor is irrelevant. In fact there are infinite combinations of items and their placements in the room that will lead to the same argument happening later. Switching it up won't change anything unless you clean it all up. Someone was going to save that girl eventually. It didn't have to be Emilia or Subaru. Someone somewhere would see a child crying and help her. It's a foregone conclusion. (unless something very unlikely happens like a kidnapping or everyone just ignoring her. But that would be an unlikely exception not a predicted outcome.)
