They are quite literally an invasive species that has destroyed indigenous populations of small mammals and songbirds. If you're going to keep a pet, they are your responsibility and no one else's. It is your fault because they're not supposed to roam without supervision. They aren't your roommates, they're a pet, treat them like one.
