How did it go? Did it help convey the history to the class?
@merryrose67883 ай бұрын
Yes, if you get time, how did it go? There were very good results in the English literature, language, and American Studies classes. They said it was important to know about this war and this event. Students also liked The Making of Christmas Truce (as if they had been the producers, what would they need to make this video?) And they really liked watching the various reactors. One of my favorite reactors was "Tribal People React to Christmas Truce."

I don't know any other song that describes the madness of war better and at the same time gives hope for a little moment of peace. "Peace on earth" is the christmas message. You just have to lay down your arms. The true criminals sit at their desks and do not lie in the trenches. Tusen tack Tommy for doing this awesome version. 🙏🙏

Each time I hear this song, different meanings arise. With the Sabaton verson, Joakim brings out the sadness and anger of soldiers stuck in a losing fight, even if their side is "winning." Today, your version adds poignancy to the words and music, moving the song from a general lament of soldiers to that of a single soldier. Thank you for these extra layers of meaning in a truly great piece of music.
